JEALOUSY AND ENVY ONE OF MANS MANY WEAKNESSES
LECAC , YOU HAVE A GREAT IDEA AND THAT WAS WHERE I, OZZIE WAS HOPING TO TAKE THIS ,BUT AS LONG AS YOU HAVE JEALOUSY AND HAITERS INVOLVED THEN NOTHING POSSITIVE WILL EVER COME OF THIS. ANOTHER THING YOU HAITERS NEED TO STOP REFERING TO STEROIDS EVERY TIME THE CANSECO BROTHERS ARE MENTIONED ,HAS ANYONE BOTHERED TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THE SIZE OF MANY OF THE PLAYERS AT THE SENIOR LEVEL NOW A DAYS. SO CUT THE CRAP AND STOP BEING SO CRITICAL OF THE CANSECO BROTHERS ,PEOPLE THAT HAVE MADE RUDE COMMENTS ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD ARE JUST SHOWING HOW OBVIOUS THEIR ENVY IS. I WAS JUST TRYING TO STIR UP SOME FRIENDLY INTEREST IN POSSIBLY PUTTING TOGETHER A FRIENDLY CHARITY EVENT THAT WOULD ALLOW SOME OF THE BEST POWER HITTERS THAT 50 AND OVER SENIOR BALL HAS TO OFFER SHOWCASE THEIR TALENT IT WOULD OF BEEN A WIN ,WIN FOR EVERYONE ,BUT BECAUSE OF THE IGNORANT AND SMALL MINDED HAITERS IT WILL PROBABLY NOT HAPPEN.TO SENIOR SOFTBALL BOARD MEMBERS YOU NEED TO DO A MUCH BETTER JOB OF CENSURING COMMENTS AIMED AT SPECIFIC PERSONS IN REFERENCE TO STEROIDS AND COMMENTS THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ONES SEXUAL PARTS.(FOOD FOR THOUGHT) you should remove these people from the message board immediately before they turn it into a disfunctional circus!!! Ozzie (twintower)

In your post about "power hitters in the senior game" and this post you speak in the third person which does come off as self promoting. As for PEDs Jose will always be linked to steroids and justifiably so. People on this board can be brutal at times and very hurtful. Some of those same people will come up to you and Jose and act like they're your best friends, go figure.

That said, the idea about about a charity event showcasing todays senior power hitters is a great idea. Maybe Bogie, the swing makeover guy, could set something up at the spring training in Florida and include it in the SM series.

You and Jose's talents will be admired and criticized by many, it goes with the territory. Praise is hard to come by and jealously is an ugly thing.

Welcome to senior softball, the Canseco brothers will be a great addition.

Also you need to work on your spelling!

Pearl.....and some can be very thin skinned. I also do not see any reference to a charity event is his initial post. Might have been viewed differently if he had done so.

The major problem with the Canseco statement is they put themselves on the same level as some of greatest power hitters that the game has ever been blessed with WITHOUT any type of PAST HISTORY playing the Great Game of Slow-Pitch Softball.......Their background is Baseball which is not relevant to Softball.

Titanhd........Assuming you are looking for any updates from my club "Banker & Mann" in the 55 Major? They won both bracket games yesterday over SI/R.Mtn. Thunder (CO) and Rio Grande (NM). Won this morning over Gonzalez Insulation (TX) to begin the double-elimination portion and just lost by 1-run to the High Street Bucs (MD).

My apologies if that was not the club you were referring to.................

Canseco brothers,

Welcome to senior softball, Personably I would love to see you or Jose or Both in any home run derby at any 50 + tournaments. Being former MLB ball players obviously you are very talented. I have not seen either of you hit softball's but it would be interesting to see how some of the better senior softball home run hitters in distance will be able to keep up with the Canseco's. Several teams have one person that hits the ball further than you are suppose to including ours.

I am one of those that will love picture with Jose. However Jose you sounded very arrogant on your 1st post. I belive that it will be a great charity opportunity and hope that it could come through. I have a $100 donations if you guys get it together. I belive Baer Chandler can beat both of you guys. Welcome to the senior ball. We love you brother and thanks for what all what you did for baseball. you might not the credit but you save baseball my 2 centavos opinion.

PR Ninja out.

JESUS LOVES YOU!!!

There is absolutely no doubt that you and your brother have put in the work and also have some GOD given talents.
But remember, you started this thread and if my 50 year old memory is correct, you started the other topics.
Play the game and let your team's victories and your contributions in those games speak for themselves.

Well said E6...you guys have an opportunity to help bring Sr softball to the forefront based on your name. Don't let Your Ego's get in the way. Saying people are jealous and envious is a stretch. I may have a little Envy for all you guys that so happened to have the Big genes. I'm 5'8" and would have loved to have been your size...but that's the way life is. I can still play ball at this age and at a competitive level. That should be the most important part...not who can hit the farthest ball. Being able to play an athletic game at our age is actually impressive...after all we are getting Old! Anyways...bring good to the game...not more BS...there is plenty of that in the world.

I was at the 50 Plus and it looked like Jose was nothing but professional...other then when he was on the field...he seemed to always be posing for a picture with a fan.

As far as the steroid stuff goes...i just wish the Conseco's made it to the bigs PEDs free...then we could have talked about their mlb days.

As for softball...senior games are won with defense and the ability to hit for a high average without home runs...

Home runs are a dime a dozen....

Tim,home runs may be a 'dime a dozen' in your age group but they are NOT in over 60s ball. Our 65 Major Plus team (Omen) played 9 games and hit maybe 15 home runs. Even the big boys on Hamels and Rose don' hit 'em at will.

I though we were talking about Jose and his brother playing 50 Major plus...not an omen team right around the corner of all playing 70s.

I think the twin towers are great for senior softball and hopefully I will be playing against you guys next year in 50 Major plus. Hopefully we can get some great 50 and over guys here in MN to give you guys a decent game.
I think putting a charitable home run derby is awesome and it certainly would be a win win for all parties involved. Don't let the derogatory words of a few misguide you and think we are all like that.

Ozzie, you and Jose were nothing but awesome at the 50+ Major plus tourney in Vegas. I thought you guys should be commended for how well you guys handled all the attention. Looking forward to playing against you guys in the future. I am a fan of Jose's. Always was and always will be. Now that I have actually talked to both of you, I'm even more of a fan. Thanks for everthing!!!
