Discussion: Mikens New Ultra II Black debuts.....

Gary Springer...is it possible to explain how a 50 major plus ranked player is able to be added to cornerstones 50 major roster right before worlds as a "legal" add?

It's amazing that you can play so often on this board and not be able to find a rule that shows you were not an illegal add for cornerstone at this years 60 major worlds.

As for hating being around a guy like me...that would be because I would tell you the truth....IT WAS/IS AGAINST THE WRITTEN SSUSA RULES for you to be added to Cornerstones roster...that's why cat and all the rest of cornerstone are scared to post on this site...they know I am telling the truth.

Maybe your just more comfortable hanging around softball guys that hqve steroided up for softball, swung altered bats, or cheat on roster adds...
Yah...if that's what your looking for...I can understand you not wanting to hang around me.

As to DOERBALM... It's easy...as long as there is another bat manufacturer with a bat even close to the Mikens I will support a company that's didn't show me they didn't care about customer satisfaction...again...as far as I am concerned...a Miken manufactured bat is a bat of last resort.

My view on all things Miken is...

I have already spent alot of money to Miken when they were the top bat that broke so easily...and...

honestly it didn't seem like Miken cared one bit that thier bats were not durable as long as we kept buying them...their lack of care about customer satisfaction is without debate.

Was that a good business decision ? Maybe for the short term bottom line ...but only for the time they had the best bat..

Now that there are other bats as good or better with durability...my money will be going to some bat company that didn't abuse me as I believe Miken has in the past...

Discussion: Quadruple Play?

Actually there is only two out recorded...

and the runner at first gets is awarded home base because....

while the ruling was being decided Dave snuck into the official rules PDF and edited the official rules to say...

If with the bases loaded the third baseman tags the runner at third first while still on the base he is automatically awarded home base and scores..

Man...this re writhing the rules stuff is fun...

No wonder Dave did it in the middle of a decision..

Also...slap hitter..you still have not posted whether you played in that western national the year you said you only played one tourney with Rated Sports...

Sometimes silence....SCREAMS

Discussion: New Ratings for the New Season

Kreugs, it's always enjoyable playing against you northerners.

Isn't is interesting Staff was all over this thread until the Cornerstone stuff popped up.

There is a rumor down here that you guys protested the cornerstone roster at 50 Major worlds.

Is that rumor true?

And if so...what have you heard?

I was told from one of the Cornerstone players himself that his first game with Cornerstone was at 50 major worlds..

I think? According to the SSUSA rules that is legal in the Plus division but illegal in the Major Division.

I had not heard Cornerstone had 6 players that had never played with them before worlds...the talk down here is three summy guys were illegal and a player from your team that was not released from your frozen roster..

Again....this is almost all second hand info so maybe everything is not true...maybe Staff can clarify...

If Cornerstone did indeed have a roster that was not legal but somehow got through the cracks??? Even if no one else is awarded the title, Cornerstone should not be allowed keep it.

If, this rumor all over NorCal is wrong and Cornerstone did not have all these guys that were illegal, because they qualified in some event somewhere? Staff should enlighten all of us , do the right thing, and clear the Cornerstone players names...as it is right now..

The growing rumor in NorCal is they cheated the system according to SSUSA Major roster rules.

They could have done what they did/wanted, except if they had a frozen player from another team IF they were in the Plus division..just not Major and below.

Staff?

Johnny Mongo, consider your team lucky that cornerstone took some of your players early this winter...you have time to build a team before worlds next winter. It's not like they added them right before worlds.

The rumor down south is, at least in major ball, Cornerstone usually waits till a week or so before the worlds then adds three or so players that have never played with them, and another player from a frozen roster without being released to their World roster team;-)

Did I just say that outloud?? Shame on me 😉

rumor...it's just a rumor I say....

Discussion: Does anyone know if 14 games at a senior worlds is a record

Jeff, Benji and I are in "time out" when it comes to head to head match ups..sorry

Congrats to you guys coming in second at 50 Plus..I am sure it's kinda like how we feel..bitter sweet....

Anyway...it was great to be part of so many games decided by less then five runs...heck...we just as easily could have lost more then half them.

How about you AZ elite guys jump into the 55 Plus world next year...the more teams the better....it sounds like most of the northwest legends are returning with a 55+ team...I see your signature 55/55M+...does that make it official???

Discussion: Why is this rule not enforced??

Dave, it might be easier to always have the back of the box marker always on the field would be to have it painted on the mat you use to call strikes...

Doing it that way takes the field crew out of it and since the back of the box is based off of home plate you always use the front of the dish to set the mat so it would always be correct.

We had five different versions of the batters box rule at 50 worlds... It's amazing when the answer is so easy....there is the box...if your foot is entirely out of it when you hit the ball you are OUT.

Discussion: 50 Major Plus Top 3

Donny, this could lead to a good conversation....just a few points for you...

Our MTC 50 team was bumped three years ago...that's an eternity in senior ball.

That bumped MTC team had NEVER been in a 50 Major division finals...worlds/Reno/western nationals

From that bumped team....we showed up at the 50 World with 8 of those bumped players.

One of those players is almost 61 years old/our pitcher

One other bumped player is pushing 59 years old.

One of those bumped players was so injured he knew this would be the last softball tourney he would be a part of..he played in the seeding games where we bat everyone and had around 6 swings in the next 12 games.

Another of the bumped players was so injured he almost didn't come to the world, he played in around 1/4 of the games..mostly as a pinch hitter because he couldn't run.

I tore my bicept muscle on my first swing Sunday morning and was useless the rest of our games..I was a pinch runner trying to save the legs of our remaining ten healthy players.

On Sunday after my injury we batted ten players because that's all we had that could play... Five of those players were not bumped MTC players...

All players on our team had to be over 55.

So really....the run our team made on Sunday was with five MTC players that had been bumped three years ago and two 55 year olds, a 57 year old, an two 58 year olds.

I guess what I am trying to say is...that bumped team you are talking about is now three years older and only five of them actually we healthy enough to fight to come in second.

Congrats on the championship Benji.

I just wish we could have earned a ring like you guys did this weekend.

I guess I will be left to imagine all the hot chicks, free drinks, autograph seeking kids, media interviews and accolades I will be missing since we failed to achieve your greatness...

On the comparision to what we did this weekend and what you guys "accomplished" this weekend......

You Sunny's guys would have to play the 40 Plus division in two weeks and win ten games in the elimination bracket to understand....

As for getting a "man card" based on softball...I really hope that was a joke;-)

To us breaking up, or only coming back with six players instead of being able to go back to the World tourney we just placed second in with the same roster....

I would guess...unlike your Sunnys boys who may likely will once again be allowed to dominate 50 Plus and really hurt that program next year....for the good of the 50 major softball program our second place team that won by an average of 3.5 runs and came in SECOND, will most likely not be able to return with more then THREE players...

And you know what Benji...I would agree with that ruling because it's good for the game....

I guess the difference between me and you Summys boys is...

I believe top teams left to dominate year after year are bad for the divisions they are allowed to play in....on that issue...I'd say if SSUSA follows through like they normally do and bump the top three teams from this years 50 major to Plus ball next year....you would be lucky to see even one of them at your Plus worlds...and yes...I think guys like your group are the biggest problem with growing Plus ball.

How about instead of hurting the 50 Plus program next season you guys challenge yourselves and play 40 Plus instead...considering how badly you guys hurt the Plus program this year by run ruling so many teams....oh wait......

I think something is coming to me......

never mind...

that would take owning a MAN CARD...lol

50 Major plus Summersville undefeated beat Arizona elites in finals.

50 Majors
1st Cornerstone
2nd MTC
3rd Aftershock

Our MTC 55 team played 14 games (I think) winning 10 elimination bracket games to make the finals with only ten " healthy" players able to play for the final six?

Does anyone know is a team has ever played 14 games in SSUSA Tourney play?

We had to quit half way through the butt whooping Cornerstone was handing us because we didn't have enough healthy bodies to finish.

Discussion: LASIK, bifocals & contacts question

I was wondering if I could get some info on these two ways to improve eyesight and the pluses and minuses of each.

I have been told LASIK can cause problems seeing in poorly lit conditions and sometimes make it impossible to play night games.

I have been told contacts have problems in windy conditions and also can be challenging if you have one eye set to see close and the other to see distance.

I don't have any info on bifocal glasses but would assume it's difficult based on having to tilt you head while reacting to a hard hit ball coming fast at you.

What are some of the experiences you guys have with eye sight and softball?

Considering we could make the finals of the 50 majors when we were all in our early 50s I doubt very much playing as a team that averages 57 years old that we will win 50s..
As far as winning the 55 Plus program...again...I would support Our team only being allowed to return with six players till we reach the next age group as long as all dominate plus teams were held to the same standard.

Discussion: Is a 55 team playing in a 50 world considered reclassed

Richie, Actually I was wondering when teams get reclassed why didn't ssusa also reclass all the other teams that did worse at the same world and big national events?

But yes...I believe if a team like the Warriors that finished higher then us at world gets reclassed then we should have.

You have to understand at the time you guys got dropped to 50 Major that our 55 year old team was being told by that same office that reclassed you guys that we would not be automatically allowed to play 50 majors with our 55 team.

That seemed strange...a 50 team that finished higher then is at last years worlds got dropped but our 55 team had to wait till after 55 Nationals to be evaluated?

That was the issue I was having with the whole thing. I thought acording to the ssusa matrix a 55 major plus and a 50 major carry the same ranking???

Ron, I was only replying to your post on a thread that had not been seen at the top of this site for over two months.

I figured if it was valuable enough for you to search through pages of the message board to be able to reply to...It had to make a difference to you;-)
