JohnO28,

The thought process is $$$, Minnesota was the highest bid to SSUSA to hold the tournament. The problem for Minnesota is drawing teams to get their money back they paid SSUSA and doing it in May. I would guess out of the 38 teams from last year the 2 from Minnesota will play each other best 2 out of 3 for the Championship!

I know of a dozen teams that wont make that drive to the Northern Championships even if the weather was guaranteed, as you know John another association is taking that weekend in Kalamazoo Michigan and it will fill up with those teams that aren't making a 10 hour drive plus when they can drive 1 to 2 hours or less! Another loss for SSUSA and it's Midwest members!

For me the best part of the Tournament was The Red Boys winning the 50AAA Bracket! Major in other Associations which we all know SSUSA is the softest on Ratings. Also my post being deleted for calling them the winners before the Tournament started!

49 turning 50 in 2024. What is the earliest tournament I can play in as a 50's player? January 1st 2024 or events before?

In this particular tournament I was more concerned with the Major teams playing AAA in 50 and 55 age divisions. Congratulations to Buell Fuel (55 MAJOR) for winning the 55AAA division!

I Hit 44 400 Rock! I don't use the balls provided that way there's no controversy about bad balls! The Umpires don't check and the pitcher on the other team is to busy to look at the ball because he's arguing pitch heights with the umpire!

It's a stretch to say a new ball every inning is a difference maker in the game as well as one getting dirty and hard to see is laughable! I don't believe you can stop them from changing it for every batter if it doesn't impede with the time frame of the game!

If you made contact with your back foot in front of the mat your out easy call no box needed! Called different by some umpires not called by others all umpires were not on the same page that's the problem! Umpires are influenced by some teams and show unneeded authority on others! Plenty of weed if you needed to get high! Plenty of players not playing somewhere with their Major teams playing AAA or same class same age group! It doesn't matter if you have a roster of 13 guys there and 15 on the bench! I personally pointed out a Individual and they didn't care! It was a good tournament and had some of the best officiating all year can't be perfect but the little things can make it better!

I haven't used a Baden Senior Softball all year so they must be a lot of "doing their own thing" which isn't odd.
