Discussion: Hows the new ball performing at worlds Dave?

Had no issues with ball performance.

Funny though, how the cleanliness issue came into play. We had the opposing teams "throw in" the dirty ball(s) [on purpose] knowing that it became tough to see, especially at dusk.

Well the committee is doing a terrific job !! To add another quote/cliche... Patience is a virtue (especially when the WORLDS roll around). Any "sniffs" available for the 50 divisions?

TY for the posted results !! One small hole, the completion of the 60 Majors. With the major under-taking of a tournament this large, it's very much appreciated. TY Again !!

Discussion: Worlds 70 Major Bracket Logic?

Thanks for a very respectful narrative. Just curious, where is it defined (outlined/stated) that the "contested" team gets an automatic (locked-in) #3 seed?

Discussion: Getting Bumped Up

D˛ In the National Rules Committee Meeting last year (and as noted in the pink priority section) teams will be moved up after the Worlds based on certain percentages (# of teams entered) PASSED on a 10-2 vote.

The question is: Will the number of teams affected be "rounded-up" or "rounded-down" because we all know, the math will never allow for an even number?

Interesting observation(s). Two concurrent tourneys with Eastern National getting scoring updates and Western National getting none on tournament specific page(s).

titahd.. It's been noted in the pink priority header labelled "TEAM RATINGS • Guidelines & Procedures (Rev: 12/15/2015)"...

that "Major-Plus players may only play on Major or Major-Plus teams in the same age division, unless it is determined that the player is not a "key" or "impact" player..... These exceptions are decided on an individual basis and approved in writing by the association."

Are you that "impact" or "key" player?

I have no idea how that is determined... Just sayin'

Thanks Jerry. Will the posted results be reflected on the tournament page with scoring results? TY Again.

And yes, it was HOT, but we survived...

COMMENTARY:

I struggle terribly with the idea of how a “full team” of Major players, playing down to AAA (straight across R/I) is equitable, (i.e., protecting the lesser skill rated teams).

I have always felt that “skill always trumps age”.

Is there a team list available for the 2022 Top Gun Spring Classic?

Discussion: Tie breaaker(s)

Need and education (again). In reviewing the tie breaker(s) criteria as stated in all tournament schedules... It states that the tie breaker method will be as follows:

Tie Breakers - Head to head (in full RR only), least runs allowed, run differential, coin toss

What is defined as "full RR only"? And how often is "full RR only" in play/used?

x3 (w/ Dbax/FOFO)... Great job SSUSA (staff), D˛ and all involved in session 1. And the posting of results as quickly as they were, are commendable. Great start to 2022.

Thanks Dan. I am more curious why almost all other tournaments hosted, have above stated info, the AZ sector does not. Just seems incomplete, void of interest and secondary to all other tourneys.

Can someone shed some light on why it is sparse and inconsistent that any information (other than dates, fields and deadlines) is put out in the Arizona Section Qualifiers? List of teams? Schedule(s)? Let alone, Results? Nothing....

Discussion: TOP GUN'S INVITATIONAL CLASSIC 2022

While I completely grasp the concept of "orphans" and playing multiple teams, etc. but would another "alternative" have been, leaving everything as you have currently designed, but placing the (2) 60M with the (5) 55AAA's both R/I=6 in a 7 team group(pod) and placing the (3) 60M+ and (3) 55M both R/I=7 in a 6 team group (pod). The other groupings remain unchanged.

This is in no means intended as a criticism, just an observation from a guy that has waaaaaaaaay toooooooo much time on his hands !!

No amount of money could get me to do what you do... And I mean that with true sincerity.

D˛ About this time a year ago you wrote.... "My personal preference is to strive to minimize "equalizers" whenever possible rather than try to force staying in the same age group, so long as the age group straddle is only "one click" ... Putting a 55-Major in with the 50-AAA's (both R/I=7) is rarely an issue ... In any event, my preference is to play "straight up" when possible ...

What happened in Cat City? Could/should 55/60's with R/I=6's played amongst themselves and the R/I=7's played amongst themselves as well?

Just trying to understand.

Thanks D˛. ..... Sorry, one more.

Since 60 Major is equal to 55 AAA (using the Ratings Chart) can 5 players from Team A (60 M) plus 4 players from Team B (60 M) and 4 players from Team C (55 AAA) form a new team and play @ 55 AAA?

Thanks D˛. So I guess then, the key point is TWO appearances at any ratings level will "lock" you in at the higher level.
