Getting Bumped Up
As a TEAM, are the guidelines for getting moved from AAA to Majors the same for getting moved from Majors to Major+ during the season?

65phantom22 ... There is an article (the last one) in the pink priority messages at the top of the Message Board titled: TEAM RATINGS • Guidelines & Procedures (Rev: 12/15/2015) ... That should answer most, if not all, of your questions ...

If it doesn't, please contact the SSUSA Office at (916) 326.5303 during normal business hours in the Pacific Time Zone and ask for a team ratings person ... If you call the office, be prepared to do so on an identifiable basis (as to you) and to discuss specific team(s) ... We do not engage in hypothetical discussions on this topic ... Good luck!

D² In the National Rules Committee Meeting last year (and as noted in the pink priority section) teams will be moved up after the Worlds based on certain percentages (# of teams entered) PASSED on a 10-2 vote.

The question is: Will the number of teams affected be "rounded-up" or "rounded-down" because we all know, the math will never allow for an even number?

H² ... Hopefully ROUNDED UP ... I've been lobbying the National Rules Committee for years on a series of actions they could and SHOULD take to "chop down the tall grass" where a lot of teams are hiding who KNOW they should be playing higher than they are ... And it's no secret ... They know who they are ... Cheers!

H2 - I guess my bigger question is about in season bumps....I see more teams bumped from AAA to Major and very few from Major to Major+. Is there a criteria for in season bumps??

65phantom22 ... SAME ANSWER as yesterday: There is an article (the last one) in the pink priority messages at the top of the Message Board titled: TEAM RATINGS • Guidelines & Procedures (Rev: 12/15/2015) ... That should answer most, if not all, of your questions ...

The criteria described in that article doesn't change depending on in-season or post-season ... SSUSA reserves the right to change ratings of teams (up or down) based on their judgment of fair competitive balance ...

Thank you for the help.....I see a few things that make perfectly good sense...and I hope these guidelines are being followed.

1. SSUSA reserves the right to change a team at any time if it becomes clear the team is too strong or too weak for its current division.

2. Over three (3) tournaments, is the team beating or losing to its opponents in the same age and skill level by an average of five (5) runs or more?

3. We do an internal review of all teams based on all results of games played in SSUSA. The SSUSA database program flags teams that win or lose by an average of five (or more) runs per game for further review.
