Nov. 16, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New Ratings Home Landing Page To anyone and everyone involved in the "refreshed" Ratings Home Page.... TY !! With the concise info on "who did what"... And "why"... Or "why not".... Is appreciated !! |
Sept. 27, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Las Vegas - 60 AAA - National/American Pod While I completely understand the "You Do" explanation AND the serpentine draft... What I don't understand is,, in the alphabet system "A" come before "N", so how is it that, the serpentine draft starts with the National Pod (first) ahead of the American Pod ?? Yes, I know, too much time on my hands.... |
Sept. 22, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: results from session 1. Thank you Stephanie. One question, will this be the final release? I ask because the only 60AAA bracket page shown is the "championship/finals" page, whereas the lead-up to brackets (National and American pods) are missing. TY again, great work. |
Sept. 8, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: What do 12 and 6 foot arcs really look like? Thanks Bruce. As a 6'-0" pitcher myself, it's easy to achieve the 6 ft arc (most anything above my head). But the perception from a batter perspective is, that from 60 ft, the pitch is a "fast pitch" meeting the 6ft height threshold . There is no way to achieve the "same pace" with the given 6ft vs 12ft (arc) geometry. In lies the big debate. Thanks again for the video, and good luck in LV. |
Aug. 25, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Curious When using a "pod" system for bracket play: (a) What determines which team is assigned which pod? And (b) Once placed in a "pod" is there any crossover between "pods", be it in the championship bracket or the elimination bracket? TY The primary reason for the question is, "it's always fun to play different teams".... |
Aug. 20, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2023 Worlds - Team List Thanks D²... Love the new approach to team listings and tentative field assignments, by session, prior to posting on the actual tournament page. Clean, informative, easily referenced. Bravo.. |
Aug. 14, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: 2023 Worlds - Team List Will the entered team list be published en masse or individually as each deadline passes? |
July 14, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: New Team Formation How many players can be used from an existing team to build a new team? At what ratings level does “this” new team get classified? |
July 8, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rules for forfeiting seeding games See Rule... 15.5 • TEAMS MUST PLAY SEEDING GAMES in the official rule book. https://seniorsoftball.com/wc/wc2023/SSUSA-Rulebook-2023-Web.pdf (page 77) |
June 5, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Sadness Dbax, you must admit though, got you you to read it, instead of glossing over it. |
June 2, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Rule Change? VegasBob... Are you implying (example) that 50 or 55 yr olds are being "allowed" to play in the 60 division? Likewise, 60 yr olds, playing in the 65 division? |
May 13, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Qualifier vs Rec Tourneys Other than the statement made in the header of the Rec Tourney Listing, which is, "These tournaments are sanctioned by SSUSA. They are NOT qualifiers. SSUSA roster restrictions do not apply", what is the clear differences between the two? (1)What does "sanctioned" actually mean? (2)Are the Rec Tourneys recorded/tracked in a teams' database? (3)How does (can) a Rec Tourney "graduate" to a qualifier? |
April 26, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: The Proton Top Gun Tune-Up This appears to address the 65 and up divisions. Will the two day format also apply to the 50 thru 60's? And when will a decision be made and reflected on tournament page? |
April 25, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Senior Softball: A hitter's game? Add to the discussion, that Major+ teams generally carry their full complement of players (full roster) with no weak links and "show up" fully loaded. |
April 3, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Team Names and Rating D².. Since you brought it up, it appears a team can "ping-pong" back and forth between age categories, I see (get) that. But, do they have to pay a team registration fee for each age category? Secondly, I noticed that on the ratings listing (page) that the team example you used, has disappeared (60 vs 55), whereas some teams are listed and shown in both age categories. I'm a bit confused. Lastly, what becomes of the team history (tracking) with this back-n-forth movement? Is it combined or segregated by age? |
March 2, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: 5gg spring championships Need help.. Based on above "will be out at 0-2" statement, referring specifically to the 6 team configuration, ZERO teams will be eliminated? I asked, because using the Bullhead, Jan 20-21, Men's 50/55+ Platinum Division • 6 Teams, as an example, does not the loser of game 5 (if loser of game 1 is the same) AND/OR the loser of game 6 (if loser of game 2 is the same), get eliminated after 2 games and go home? TIA |
Feb. 7, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: TOC WINNERS D², did I read correctly in your last statement, that the end of the ratings' adjustments are not yet complete, and that additional re-rates will be forthcoming this week? |
Feb. 7, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: TOC WINNERS TY, for the well detailed response. Much appreciated. The better response given, is that, to the color gray.... lol Thanks again. |
Feb. 7, 2023 HSquared | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: TOC WINNERS D², since your mentioned "body of work", is every team reviewed at end of year for this "body of work" criteria? And if so, is there a weighting system (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishes vs. the number of teams entered)? Why, you ask? .... I HATE the color, GRAY !! And yet, if GRAY is a warranted color, I can somewhat live with it, as long as it is consistent across the board.... |
Feb. 5, 2023 HSquared | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: seeding games At the TOC, 65+ AA, team Electrifiers (TX), did not play in round robin on Friday. How is it that they were awarded a WIN, in the first bracket game and not placed in the elimination bracket immediately, as stated above {Rule 15.5}? I'm really confused.... |
