NICKNAME36. I like your thinking and yes 1 pitch would be fun and yes it would be a hitters game.

Lets play 14" senior tournaments.

Discussion: Thank You Terry Hennessey for the Bat Testing Article

Better load up on wooden bats, I don't see anything good coming out of all this bat testing, your damned if you do damned if you don't.
I see it now if a 65/70 year old hits a laser through the infield and the third baseman and shortstop barely react, the defensive team will call time out and have the bat check its just around the corner.

SUNSET PARK. Park in the middle of the south parking lot there is an alley that runs northwest
perfect for BP we use it whenever we are in Vegas and play at arroyo grande which is about about
3 miles from sunset.

Discussion: Batter Box Rule

Just go back to the original batters box, it worked just great for decades and decades and nobody bitched about it and nobody complained about it.

Why is senior softball changing something that was never broken in the first place?????

The one thing senior softball did right and was needed was putting in the orange extended base at first even though I still get my foot stepped on from time to time, a whole freaking base and guys still step on my foot amazing.

Hey GIO223NY go to Arizona, mesa to be exact and play at LEGACY PARK and let see how much you will wine about the big fields. When I played 50/60s we could still could motor more so in the 50s but the 60s wasn't to bad either just have to play little deeper on larger fields. As the old saying goes "its easier to run in then to run out".

Just be thank full you had balls. Like nickname36 said just as long as both teams use the same ball for the whole game I don't see a problem, both teams have to hit and catch them..

Discussion: ILLEGAL PITCH

BJ....On deck batter only says or yells illegal" IF" the umpire puts out his arm but is not verbal with the illegal call. It docent take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Discussion: ILLEGAL PITCH

90% of the umpires I've had over the years are verbal with "BALL, FLAT, STRIKE, or BALL" and call "ILLEGAL" with a verbal 25 to 50% of the time or they put the right arm out parallel to the ground and then we relied on the on deck batter to help you out. Not a big deal!!!! I never played in a double hitter league or any league to just walk. LOL LOL Championship games are another story weather there in town or out of town.

Discussion: CT Masters Tournament

Jimperry19, Yes you are correct with all the other wineing points you wrote about. Why can't we just play the game the way it was designed Sure there will be problems but changing all the things that people want changed will just ruin the game and you will lose more and more teams. One thing that I have noticed is that the 60 and over team managers have rule books in there back pockets and it just delays the game more and more every time they wanna complain. Umpires have a hard job dealing with calling the games fair but then have to listen to managers complain about a lot of things. Senior softball is starting to look like the NBA where the players wine and complain about every call.

My is there so much bitching in senior softball now a days? You would complain if the hung you with a new rope. people complain about the batters box, time limits, commitment line, game times, umpires, etc etc it never ends. I use google earth pro to eyeball the park or parks from above especially if I have never been to the park or parks and pack according whether its a rental car or my personal car. Google gives you birds eye view of what your getting into to.

Why would you want 3 numbers on your back and maybe on the front also..??? Maybe the same reason why pro athletes wear neon colored spikes, sneakers, etc etc and they don't match their uniform colors.....

Discussion: Bracket Updates

Like I said in an earlier post it would a pice of cake to post all the scores of games. The thing is
I would have to have all the park supervisors do there job 100% at the end of each game without fail.
Thats where the problem lays getting them to email me the scores immediately after the game has ended,
but that would be like pulling teeth and asking way to much of them to do, cell phones are an amazing
tool if used properly.

Discussion: Commitment Line question

it dosen't matter where the commitment line is at between 3rd and home, both teams have to abide by it during the game so just deal with it and make adjustments to your game accordingly. IMO They should just take out the commitment line completely then all you have to do is touch the outside home plate it would save a lot of problems and complaints which happens in senior softball way to much. You know its gonna be a long game when two of the other players have a rule books in there back pockets, been there, seen it.

Discussion: Posting game scores

Posting scores would be almost a piece of cake I could do it from my house on my computer but it wouldn't be on
a volunteer basis and the field directors would have to there job with the scores after every game without fail
(that's where the almost piece of cake comes in, WITHOUT FAIL). I have a 5 TB external HD and all I'd have to do is
load another email address from cox, easy money so far. The only problem I would have is I'd need all and I mean
"ALL" the field directors 110% on board and do there job 100% after each and every game with out fail.

There is a lot more to it, this is just the readers digest verison.

Discussion: Posting game scores

I played up at Hollywood park in Vegas a few years ago in the 55's and I asked one of the
2 guys that were running the tourney why they don't post tourney scores on the internet/website
and the older man just laugh a said "it's not my job". They just sit at the table and play with
there cell phones and hand out news balls for the next games and maybe answer a question
or two. We pay a lot of money for these big tourneys in Vegas, we should be able to go to our
cell phones and go to the senior web site or and app and see the scores in real time.
