Discussion: Bracket Updates

Like I said in an earlier post it would a pice of cake to post all the scores of games. The thing is
I would have to have all the park supervisors do there job 100% at the end of each game without fail.
Thats where the problem lays getting them to email me the scores immediately after the game has ended,
but that would be like pulling teeth and asking way to much of them to do, cell phones are an amazing
tool if used properly.

Discussion: Commitment Line question

it dosen't matter where the commitment line is at between 3rd and home, both teams have to abide by it during the game so just deal with it and make adjustments to your game accordingly. IMO They should just take out the commitment line completely then all you have to do is touch the outside home plate it would save a lot of problems and complaints which happens in senior softball way to much. You know its gonna be a long game when two of the other players have a rule books in there back pockets, been there, seen it.

Discussion: Posting game scores

Posting scores would be almost a piece of cake I could do it from my house on my computer but it wouldn't be on
a volunteer basis and the field directors would have to there job with the scores after every game without fail
(that's where the almost piece of cake comes in, WITHOUT FAIL). I have a 5 TB external HD and all I'd have to do is
load another email address from cox, easy money so far. The only problem I would have is I'd need all and I mean
"ALL" the field directors 110% on board and do there job 100% after each and every game with out fail.

There is a lot more to it, this is just the readers digest verison.

I played up at Hollywood park in Vegas a few years ago in the 55's and I asked one of the
2 guys that were running the tourney why they don't post tourney scores on the internet/website
and the older man just laugh a said "it's not my job". They just sit at the table and play with
there cell phones and hand out news balls for the next games and maybe answer a question
or two. We pay a lot of money for these big tourneys in Vegas, we should be able to go to our
cell phones and go to the senior web site or and app and see the scores in real time.

Discussion: New rule on shaved bats

Hmmm. Do professional players that used PED's to win the ring and never get caught tell his grand kids he used PED's to win the ring heck no. Does the high school players in baseball that used PED's and a shaved bat and broke all the high school and state records does he tell the grand kids, heck no, and that goes for all the other high school players in every state and every sport. I know dads that have there kids bats shaved in little league and girls fast pitch and travel ball. Good luck in stopping it anytime soon I don't agree with it but what can I do to stop it? If I was to say anything and rat out a male or female, using illegal equipment id never be able to show my face in a park again and nobody would want me on a slow pitch team or my daughter or boy on a team, all three of us would be labeled as rats, as the old saying goes "SNITCHES GET STITCHES".

You will never stop PED's and shaved bats no matter what level of play they're in and that goes for male and female players. Tournaments couldn't afford the time or expense to check every bat before every game and complaints to the ump during a game if they suspect a shaved bat. What needs to happen, I have no idea I just keep my mouth shut and play the game as it is and hope nobody gets hurt.

EVER sport that has been played from day one(1) has had they're share of cheating in one way or the other and softball is no exception you will never stop it. If there is an advantage to cheating to be had, people will find a way to cheat and take advantage of it, male of female.

My take on not letting people using your bat and I've always been this way since I was 22 to the present. I never let freeloaders on the team use my bat(free loader a guy with no bat only). I pay between 250$ to 400$ for a top of the
line bat I'm not about to let a free loader use it each and every time up and every tournament, they need to get there
own bat. Ive never used a shaved bat in a game, I've try'd a few in batting practice don't care for them. So if your
accusing me of using a shaved bat because I put my bat in my bag after I hit or I put it at the other end of the dugout
you better be ready for a defamation of character law suite when the bat tests legal which it will every time.

I have to agree with most of what you said johnO28 & softball4b, just not sharing a bat, I work to hard for my money.

WOW, you must be bored or snowed in to ask this question.

"OIL IT UP PUT IT IN YOUR BATBAG AND PUT THE BATBAG IN THE GARAGE
IT WILL STILL BE THERE IN THE SPRING" I grew up in Syracuse did it every winter.

I agree 100% with "nickname36"about the safety bag,
plus never, ever use a pitchers net in a tournament if you
want to use them in leagues go for it I don't play league ball.

Good luck with bell bank. If you think it cost to much for for entry fees at big league dreams in Vegas be prepared for the prices at bell bank plus its way out on the eastside of mesa near queen creek.
10$ to park...11$ to enter the softball fields and food prices way over priced plus no matter what venue you wanna go in there it has a high price for entry, O-ya no eating your food & pop up tents in the parking lot ... Im wasn't impressed with the fields either nor was some of the other teams. TONS OF MOSQUITOES at the fields also, dont know if they will be a problem at that time of the tourney.

Discussion: BP Fields near Hollywood Park Softball Complex?

No fields near HOLLYWEIRD for hitting, not even close. In seven years I played up there at SHADOWC*** and HOLLYWEIRD for this tourney we were stuck up there for 6 of the seven year... The fields suck and the reason I folded my 2 team for this tourney, nobody wanted to play up year after year, never even sniffed big league dreams of other fields down in central Vegas.

Discussion: The new Senior Baden ball.

Its amazing how many wine about the ball there using in a certain tournament. All you guys must think your some kind of super home run hitters. Something you need to look at both teams are using the same ball if it sucks for you it sucks for them. learn to hit singles, move the runners play a little small ball. I'd take guys anytime that can hit for a high average not guys that think they can hit a home run everytime up and hitting 250/300 for the tournament. THERES NO "I" IN TEAM, THE LAST TIME I LOOKED THE GAME IS STILL A TEAM SPORT.
