Discussion: Results of Las Vegas

Hello Nancy, you and I have never met and normally I don't respond much on this board but your response hit a nerve. Not sure whoever on all these posts ever said it was our right to see scores. We all play in these tournaments and have many friends that play at different age groups and for our own enjoyment like to see how they are doing. As Tim did a great job on his own keeping the tournament he was doing updated and was appreciated as I friend playing in 60 AAA. As you all have stated many times your software can't give us want we would like so can you explain what is so hard at the end of the day for the director to take out his or her phone take a picture and post it, not asking for much more than that as I have seen numerous people ask? Have enjoyed SSUSA so far but as a business man I also look to try to give my customers what they want. I know this might seem silly to the powers to be but it is an issue that I have seen now for 4 years since join. Maybe we will run into each other some day, apologize for my rant if I see you I will introduce myself and buy you a beverage :)

Thank you Tim M who directed 60AAA, you did a great job keeping everyone up to date as the tournament went on and finished. Really appreciated knowing how some of my friends teams were doing. Still don't get what is so hard at a minimum to take a picture of the brackets at the end of each day and post by the directors that are there. SSUSA biggest tournament of the year with over 600 team you would think they would want update players. OH well this post will probably be pull off like the other one.

Discussion: HOW LONG?

Since I am fairly new to Senior Softball, has it always been East vs. West in the Championship game? Have you ever used North, South, Midwest, etc. to play in Vegas for the second leg or have ever considered giving other areas of the country a chance for the triple crown without going to the East or West? Just curious

Discussion: Playing Different Class Teams

Not sure if this topic has been discussed in the past but was wondering how the rule came into place for when a upper class team plays a lower class team that they have to play by their rules? I think it puts the upper class team in a huge disadvantage by not only losing half their homeruns but also having to give 5 runs. Wouldn't it make more sense for the lower class team to be given the choice of either the 5 runs and let the high class team hit their homeruns or no runs and have them hit your homerun amount - just a thought as again this weekend in a round robin format there were 3 AAA & 3 Major teams with only one winner crowned. Major teams went from 6 to 3 homeruns and also gave 5 runs - puts them at a disadvantage as they are built to hit homeruns and then throw in 280 ft. fences - lots of homerun outs.

Discussion: 2018 Vegas World Schedule

Hello Staff

I see that 40 & 50 Class switched weekends this upcoming year. In past lots of players like to stay both weekends to play with their 55 & 60 teams and then the following weekend play with a 50 team now they will have to stay a couple of weeks or come back - how come the weekend switch?

Thanks,

Joe

Michigan Mike - If Dave and Senior Softball would do the right thing and allow Michigan players play for Illinois teams, I would give you a try but states such as Iowa that don't touch Illinois but we can takes those players - they won't let us grab Michigan players - I guess Lake Michigan is not a river like Illinois / Iowa divider - sorry you will find a team. Check with the Lansing Legends - a good team and good group of guys.

Discussion: What is the correct call?

This weekend at the Quad City Classic there was a play that everyone was unsure of the correct call - one out runners on first and third / fly ball to outfield caught for second out / runner on first running on hit never goes back to first base / fielder throws to first base for double play third out / runner on third tags on catch and crossed home plate before double play at first / does run count or does double play end inning?

Discussion: Milwaukee Classic - confusing ?

They take the first 8 in each age group that pays - if you don't get the form and money in before the 8 spots fill up then you are out.

Discussion: Homerun - Hit and Sit

Staff,

Batter touch first with bat in hand on his own which is why even thought it was hit & sit - umpire said he was out. Is there a rule in rule book that say you hit a single and run to first and touch first with the bat in your hand you are out?

Thanks,
BH

Discussion: Homerun - Hit and Sit

Hello Staff,

Wondering if you can answer a question for me. This past weekend in Indianapolis, we were told before each game that when you hit a homerun no need to to touch first you can just sit. Unfortunately for my team one of my players hit a homerun and then wandered down to first base and touch the base with his bat in his hand. The umpire saw it and called him out. I know the rule when you need to touch first base you can't touch with your bat in your hand but when you play hit and sit, isn't the play dead as soon as the ball leaves the park so this rule wouldn't apply? Just want to know for future and if it is in the rule book.

Thanks,
BH

Hat Man,

How do the shoes run - true to size or small / large? I wear a 13 in some but was thinking 13.5 for these to get a little extra room but don't want to swim like with a 14. Thoughts - thanks for the help
