Discussion: Calling Time out

I want to get this straight based upon Nancy’s example of the runner 12’ off first.

I’m playing SS -go out and get the cutoff. Running back toward the infield and hit the dirt. Call time out. I am not awarded timeout until when Nancy?

Discussion: Dont blame SSUSA for the ball problem.

D2. This story gets better by the day. The supposed owner of the product uses BSN as his sole supplier and it sounds like neither one knows what’s going on or trusts the other at point in time.
This could turn into a HBO mini-series. Especially since BSN was the company that did the background check on the ball we used in Reno. Interesting!
I appreciate your last line and I am glad to hear SSUSA is looking into alternatives. If it was my company I’d fire BSN at the first available moment. But its not.
Good luck and Happy 4th.

Thank you for the response SSUSA Staff above regarding the Worlds and the Rock which is an event a little less than 3 months out.
Based upon your response and entry fee timelines can you please share what ball is going to be used in Sacramento end of July? The entry fee must be paid by Tuesday July 6th. Thanks and Happy 4th

I agree with the Wizard’s comments regarding knowing what ball is going to be used before the July 6th enter deadline. It’s a reasonable request of SSUSA.

Thanks

Thanks for the update
My only hope is that SSUSA has considered a change to using the Trump Stote. Other than one positive comment on this board from a SSUSA member regarding that ball ….the rest have been negative. Appreciate the update D2

How can the Stote ball not be allowed. It is the SSUSA ball? Doesn’t make sense. Are you saying it’s not available?

Discussion: Balls for Rock N Reno

Thanks for having Reno SSUSA. Love playing at Golden Eagle one of the best softball complexes in the country. With that said the “ball” used sucked. I completely understand that everyone played under the same conditions but it doesn’t take away from the play of that softball. There was no way BSN did there homework on the ball performance compared to the Microcell STOTE. Reno was a perfect example of why you changed balls a few years ago from the one we used in Reno. My only ask is that you give us advance notice before money is due for the upcoming TOC tournaments in 2021. I completely understand supply chain issues these days and that you have no control over them. One suggestion is to use someone else to determine a suitable ball if the Microcell STOTE is unavailable. One thought to solving this would be to BYOB as long as they are stamped 44/375. Everyone would save money. SSUSA not having to buy balls and teams not having to pay for balls.

Thanks for the update and completely understand the delay. What is the brand of a ASA 44/375 standard ball? Just in case I have a few to bring along. Thanks

Discussion: Fully Vacinated Members

Hi--reading how NY governor just announced that the Yanks and Mets can have full capacity sections for fully vaccinated fans. My question is since we have to complete forms before each tournament so far this year has SSUSA thought about capturing this information (fully vaccinated)? Since masks are no longer required outdoors..will there be changes to our COVID-19 rules moving forward. I appreciate all that SSUSA has done to get us back playing ball in 2021. Thanks!

Change is never easy but if it gives us the opportunity to play during the day and not at dusk or night....I'm glad. I can't remember playing at Arroyo or Hollywood so I went to their website's and looked at the reviews specific to softball fields. Not that great but some of the reviews were from a few years back. Have those fields been upgraded recently? On yesterday's announcement it stated these were the best fields in Vegas. Is the Rock going to be used now that we are playing in Vegas vs. the Stote? Looking forward to finally playing in 2021.
