Discussion: Ball Being Used in Reno?

Just read the most recent SSUSA newsletter and the article on Balls,Balls Balls. Understanding the read SSUSA doesn’t have much control starting with off shore manufacturing and supply chain issues so maybe it isn’t a bad idea for teams to bring their own balls for a few tournaments. It helps with existing supply and time factors. We all have 44/375 balls in our bags/garage. Let the umpires review and mark the balls before or during the games.

Thanks for both replies. I just read the 1 review on the ball from last month. It is what it is at this point.

Any idea which one? We have extra ISA Rocks 44/400 from Vegas and St. George.

Thanks

Discussion: Enough Said

Just purchased their 854 one piece 24.5 oz. I still need to put more swings on it but it isn’t as hot out of the wrapper as my Suncoasts bats.

Discussion: Trump Stotes

I believe the ball is supposed to be the STOTE, microcell made by Trump.
Big difference then the Trump Stote in performance and heat.

Merry Christmas
So based on the feedback above the rule change is to get hitters to change and infielders to do the same who have been playing the game for over 35 + years. Happy New Year!

JCA. I care -getting to sit an inning a game helps when you get to Thursday play. Now we need 11 in the field to remain competitive.
I think with this rule SSUSA should get rid of the boundaries and open it up countrywide for players to play for whatever team they want to play for. I also disagree with your comments about fielding vs. hitting. At our age fielding is regressing a lot faster than hitting. Which I believe will drive teams and players away from the game.

How does playing 11 extend a players career? Maybe I’m missing something.
Please explain.

Tim. Thanks for your comments and homework you did prior to the session. Did all the voting directors do the same? I wonder especially in the West.
I am having a hard time understanding how this passed 12 to 0.

With this logic of consistency why not test it for a season at the AA and AAA?

Was this ever on the annual meeting agenda in the past and voted upon? I’ve never heard this discussion at any of the tournaments I’ve attended. But it’s gospel now.

Discussion: Suncoast Diamond 12 Inch End Load

I bought this bat back in early spring. Had about 200-250 swings and this morning in league play it broke and split. I completely understand it has no warranty but I am really disappointed in how long it held up. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. I am really second guessing Suncoast performance and I just ordered their melee 3 endload which is in back order. Ugh

Always appreciate the “ball” conversations. In following these conversations this is the first I’ve heard about changes to the cor/comp being discussed because of the situation we face with suppliers. Glad to hear we are sticking with 44/375. Looking forward to hearing what the market place has to offer.
How did the ball perform in the Westerns. That conversation last month on this board was very interesting. Keeps us/me entertained. Thanks

Discussion: Calling Time out

Yes it is a judgment call. Point of me calling timeout is to stop the runner and not get myself into a throw over situation. Now if the runner is napping that’s another story and I would not be asking for time just yet.
