California Tournaments
Is SSUSA going to wait & see before we send our money to SSUSA for the tournaments in California? Or do we sent it in now, not knowing if there is going to be a tournament as California which has a stay at home order in place. Need to know now so that my team can make hotel reservations.

SSUSA is NOT cashing checks unti the tournament is confirmed to be on, but you do need to send the payment in. If they wait until the last minute, then wait for people to start mailing checks it will become a real nightmare.

If you plan to play, register early so that SSUSA can start making behind the scenes plans.... directors, umpires, staff rooms, PPE, and other things that will be needed in this new era.

Yuma and Cathedral City have been added as locations for the Southern California State Championships. So hopefully this means that if we cannot play in Commiefornia that the entire tournament will just move to Arizona, which is already allowing tournament play!

How soon we know if Yuma, Az. is definite and also what divisions would be scheduled there. Being from Az. it would be nice, less travel but i understand the logistics ?

Being from AZ, I’d rather go to California and play. We are scheduled to participate in this one and according to Anthony in the office, they will not make a decision till June 2nd. We have our fingers crossed as this was supposed to be our 2nd trip to Cali with the first one already being cancelled

Wood_1966, what would possess you to name call like that especially in a forum like this? If you don't like the Golden State, maybe you just should reuse yourself from playing there.

Name Calling...Haha! I have property and pay property tax in that state, I can call the state whatever I like!

Wood_1966, I still fail to see the humor. What you called it was name calling. It was not a funny nickname; it was pretty much an insult to the state. I like the diversity of our 50 states and don't have an insulting or disparaging name for any of them.

Well, good for you! You are obviously a very special human being. That being said, It is a good thing we have a 1st amendment huh? Because I have a ton of nicknames for California, that one was one of the nice ones. I am not going to get dragged into a political or war of words on this site, that is not was it is for, you have taken my one little comment and went way to far with your being offended. I am not here to argue politics or TDS.

I am not special, and this was not a political discussion at all and not even sure why you went off on that tangent. This is definitely not the place for that or disparaging remarks about anyone including Californians or Michaganders. So we can just disagree.
