I understand the frustration as all but one hotel , the SSUSA discounts have all expired. Half of my team comes from Santa Maria, I've been hearing it from them. What I do, is make reservations for all three possibilities, free cancellation and pay when you get there. Just got to remember to cancel the other two when you find out field assignments.

I too hate that most of the time the hotel deals offered on this site are expired by the time we have filed assignments. I feel very dishonest booking at multiple places then canceling. I think of the company who is planning on my reserved business. I also think of the people I may be taking a room from. I just don't have it in me to do something like that. It's one thing if something comes up in life and I have to cancel, my conscious can live with that. But to plan to cancel, screwing other people........ I just don't have it in me to do that to people. My two cents.

Yes I hate to it too but its the situation we are put in by the date of field assignments.
Here is an idea, communicate to the participating hotels and get them to extend their deadlines up to 2 weeks prior to the date of the actual tournament.
Otherwise it is what it is and I am not going to be stuck without a room for me and families of my team mates.

Does anyone know when the pending field assignments will become final field assignments?

One of the major issues I think that would help with field assignments and game times and making hotel reservations is the deadline for fees is too close to the actual event.
Tournament dates are posted at the beginning of the year so no surprises there.Then why does SSUSA wait until three weeks sometimes before requiring fees to be paid?
If SSUSA doesn't change their requirements then why not have sponsored hotels extend their reserve by dates, or a combination of both?
