My Tanel RevD cleats are wearing out and I am having a heckova time finding replacements. Is Tanel still in business? Does anyone have any suggestions? Players who use courtesy runners need not reply :). My top concerns are comfort and durability. Thanks for any help.
I find my Tanel's on Ebay They are new but might be last years model but they are always a good price. You have to check it daily to find the ones you want.
Thanks for the web address, but it looks like a close out. No medium size shoes left at all. What other brand shoes would you guys recommend?
BP Athletics sell Tanel.Might try them.

Thanks for the tip Titan, but they only have four sizes available and no 91/2.
Tanel is not making cleats right now. I looked for a good quality viable replacement and Mizunos new line offers some great options in standard and 3/4 models. Most of the guys I worked with in Tanel are now switching over and like the fact that the Mizuno is a bit lighter and slightly more stable. Another nice feature is they have a true turf shoe and a combo turf/cleat option that many outfielders like too. If you need help call me anytime.

Lots of better options than Tanels.
Hi DMac-I have worn Tanels in the past, but I now wear 3n2 turf cleats. Very comfortable playing the outfield.
I like the New Balance turf shoes.
What I did last year have a custom pair made from Adidas on their shoe website. You can design them any way you want.
They weren't turf shoes, but they were very comfortable when playing all day at a tournament two days straight.
Boombah has a huge selection that I have converted over to using....seems like the Nike mids I have used for yrs have been bothering my Achilles near the middle and end of the summer so I went to low cut Boombah turfs....never had a problem and selection on colors is almost infinite...I use turf drive train
Wore my last pair of Boombah's this year. Comfortable shoe, but come apart after a couple of months. Tried purchasing a pair of Tanel's, and found their website and overall customer service a disaster. Settled on a pair of 3N2 turf shoes. So far, have been very pleased with the comfort, stability and overall durability.
Rusty47 I completely agree with you about Boombah shoes. I found this older post I made about them a while back on this forum:
I will never buy another pair of Boombah turf shoes. I been waiting for a chance to sound off on them.
I bought a pair Boombahs back in April, didn't really start to use them until May, by August the sides were split where the toe meets the foot and the uppers had shifted away from the soles.
Lousy customer service: After about 5-6 emails and photos sent to their customer service I was told sorry, they were not able to warranty them. I told them I was not 20 years old and playing 6 nights a week in them and running like a jack rabbit, I'm 57 years old and played once a week plus tournaments and BP. I figure honestly, these shoes lasted at best 2 months.
I went back to my 4 year old 3n2's and wore them until a fellow player gave me an older pair of Tanels.
I strongly recommend 3n2's or Tanels. Both are superior to Boombah in support, comfort and durability. Boombahs are lighter in weight but they are shoddy and flimsy.
Very interesting the last two posts....so far mine have held up but they were used for the third of the season....what model did the boombahs fall apart....that has my interest now
I have a pair of Boombahs that were new for Dalton, then 60's Vegas, and 70's Vegas, plus 2 BP's. Sole has come loose from the body of the shoe at the toe on both shoes. Love how they feel to play in, but they sure don't last like other turfs I've owned. I'm going to try and glue the sole back on and see if I can get a few more miles out of them.
I bought a pair of Boombah's Trail Turfs this spring. I haven't had a problem with them in fact I bought another pair in early September. Good price also.
Bruce have you stopped using Molded Cleats? How does the turf shoes grip when running bases? I just looked at some 3N2 MoFo Turf for $55.
I haven't used molded cleats in a long, long time. I don't have a problem with the grip. Boombah's price is about $25 plus shipping.
Curveball, that's the problem I had with Boombahs, the sole shifted completely away from the upper part of the shoe. Flimsy construction.
Ended up with a pair of New Balance P4040 cleats. The word was that they run a little small so I ordered a half size bigger. I like them. They are light and have a nice grip for guys that can still run. Thanks for all of your advice.
I think I will go back to Tanels or something else. The Elites I bought this year lasted about 1/2 a year-not good!
Webbie,
Tanel is not making cleats or anything else right now. I do have a few pairs left but not many. Take a look at those Mizunos that I mentioned in a previous post. The Erupt 3 comes in either 3/4 or standard height and are real durable and most importantly comfortable. If I can help you out let me know. Glad to answer any questions.
