Staff, if a player has played in the previous year with a team (on Roaster) and at the start of the new season (winter tournament) comes around and does not play with said team, but is on that roaster (did not play) is that player officially on that teams roaster?

Does that player need a release from that roaster and does it constitute a release?

Ok, here goes nothing.

I think the seeding you earned should determine home or away. Getting seeded high should earn you home field, that give teams more incentives to place higher.

Miken, has a great series of gloves at a very reasonable price and comes 95% broken in.

I have the 15 inch and love it.

Discussion: Answer this.

The answer is don't pitch, play the outfield its safer out there.

Why do some people speed, because they want to.

No one forced that person to pitch its a choice. In some association its no mandatory to wear a mask and some pitchers chose not too.

why should the game change because someone who does not have the skill to play that position want too.

In Florida we have a league, called Florida Half Century, they use a net. Some of the guys that are pitching only pitch because they have a net, and that's great.

We play tournament ball, the best of the best, don't go adding a net because it will water down the talent. Gear up and field the position.

With all that being said, players need not light up pitchers on purpose.

Thank You Dave,

Now that worlds are over, what is the formula for teams being moved up?

when does this move officially take place.

I have seen top 4 team finishers list, does this mean that they are being moved?

Discussion: Grounds Crew

I know that SSUSA has no control over grounds crew. But when you see a bunch of young guys pulling water towards the infield rather than away from the playing surface, should you say something or just keep quite.

I myself could not stay quite (believe or not) so I said, should you not be pushing the water towards the grass area rather than the infield! The young adult claimed they did not want the clay to go towards the grass (WOW) so I mentioned it to the older adult who looked at me like I was insulting his intelligence and said we do this for a living.

I turned around and said that's no excuse for doing it wrong.

after all this was done the losers bracket of our division was eliminated and the undefeated team was name the winner of the tournament. I was not happy with this outcome, we where on a roll, but second place is better than last.

Just saying!

Discussion: Calling Time out

Nancy and B.J.

Thank You for the input.I also umpire. As you stated first thing to do as an umpire when calling time is to make sure play is done, but my question is once you call time irrelevant where any players or ball are, umpire cannot retract that call.

i understand she made a mistake, but once made as umpire you have to earn up to it and not allow further action by offence or defense.

My question is there anything in the rule book that address this?

Thanks again for all the input.

Staff is there a specific rule for this or is it umpire discretion?

Ok, granted might have been early, but she still called out "TIME"

only 2 things can happen

1) time is called dead ball no advancement

2) play stands keep playing (have a problem with this, for how long can the play continue)?

Discussion: Calling Time out

Here it goes.

A ball is throw to home plate, catcher miss plays it, catcher picks up ball, infielder yells timeout.

Umpire yells time at the same time catcher throws ball to 3rd base, which is missed by 3rd baseman and runner scores.

umpire says because time was called will catchers arm was in motion, "no timeout" runner scores.

offence is happy, defense is not.

what should happen?

Discussion: What's the correct call?

Dave, how does a catcher standing behind the plate( been there many a time) catch the ball in fair territory?

No Pugh Rodriguez's playing in our divisions that I am aware of.

Once touched by a defensive player in foul territory before first or third base the ball is foul. unless it is in the air.

Stated ball touched the mat (Floor) bounced up, Catcher touches it, behind the mat, before the first or third base bag, ball is foul!!!

The way it is stated, the ball bounced back towards the catch, so he touched it behind the foul line."FOUL BALL"
