• Participating Teams: Midwest Championships 2015
Shawnee, Kan., will once again serve as the host city for the 10th annual Midwest Championships. 2015 marks the sixth time that Shawnee will host the games which drew 55 teams last year. Here is what players and others had to say:
“On behalf of the Courtyard and the Hampton Inn-Shawnee, we would like to thank the Senior Softball Association for bringing their tournament back to Shawnee in 2015. Our staff loves the Senior Softball players as they are the friendliest customers and truly enjoy the sport. The players said they are looking forward to returning in 2015!”
– JoLynn Brosnan, Director of Sales – Courtyard & Hampton Inn
“We’ve attended the Midwest Championships for the last six years and it’s always been a great experience. It’s a very well-run tournament.
The fields are great and for those who need to warm up there are batting cages and extra fields available. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and it’s only about 10 miles outside of the city for those who want to do some sight-seeing. We plan on going in 2015.”
– Glen May, 50 Caliber St. Louis (MO), Men’s 50 Major-Plus
“We go to the Midwest Championships every year. It’s always on the top of our list. We can be assured of good teams and plenty of them in each division. The area provides affordable costs for lodging and meals. When we get a chance, we attend the Kansas City Royals ballgames. Don’t miss Strouds, a prominent and favorite local eatery.”
– Ed Tworek, Midwest Express (NE), Men’s 65 AAA
“The Midwest Championships has always been a good tournament. For teams in the Midwest, we get to play close to home and at a nice facility with great staff and friendly people in the surrounding area.”
– Don Hoen, Minnesota Masters/Ancell, Men’s 60 AAA
