Participating Teams List: Northeast 2013
Syracuse: ‘The Heart of New York’
SYRACUSE,N.Y. – The Northeast Championships return to Syracuse in 2013 with earlier dates: Aug. 23-28 – just in time for players to enjoy the New York State Fair!
The tournament is expected to attract teams from both the Northeast and Canada as they vie for a berth to the Tournament of Champions.
In recent years, Senior Softball USA has held a number of very successful tournaments in Syracuse, including the Eastern Nationals and a national qualifier, said Terry Hennessy, chief executive officer of Senior Softball USA. “We’re expecting even more teams and more fun in 2013.”
“Last year the players found that the fields at Hopkins Road Softball Complex and the Onondaga Lake Park had been improved and were well primed to welcome our teams,” he added. “We know that will be the case again in 2013.”
First-time visitors to Syracuse will find that there’s always something to do. They can shop, dine and play inside the recently opened Destiny USA, the sixth largest shopping center in the country at 2.4 million square feet.
And there’s always something happening on the campus of Syracuse University or you can treat yourself to world-class pampering at the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in the quaint Finger Lakes village of Skaneateles.
Some may choose to go back in time at the Erie Canal Museum and the Onondage Historical Association.
