Discussion: question on cracked miken ultra 2's
i see "cracked" miken ultra 2's offered for sale on ebay ocassionaly, average 20 to 25 dollars, QUESTION : WHY ARE PEOPLE BUYING THESE BATS FOR ?? i have 6 in my garage, WHY ? NO IDEA, JUST SEEMS THAT I CANT THROW THEM AWAY. thanks.
I'll venture a guess spare parts maybe, for something sinister.
I wouldn,t pay for a broken bat but I take broken ones and rap the cracked area with the mesh stuff you repair wall board seams with and gorilla clue. It makes a very good batting practice bat and you can save your game bat. I have had them break in only a hundred swings and some have lasted for 8-10 good batting practices. Hit the ball opposite the crack.
Wondered when someone would bring up .............."Gorrilla Glue".......I know of guys who have used this glue because it penetrates the carbon fiber and can be sanded back to a smooth surface after it has expanded. Some have reported it extended the life of their bat by 50%. Is this an altered bat???
thanks- i will try the gorilla glue. i will use the repaired bats for batting practice and keep the pressure off my gamers. appreciate your responses.
