Long discussion below-so rather than tag along-- Question-If bats had a solid end wouldn't that solve the problem. For U bat experts-Is it possible to make a senior bat without a removable end cap?
Of course it's possible, sanctioning bodies won't do it. They all have deals with the bat companies(even if they won't admit it), too much money at stake.
Technically Gary, if they have end caps that are removable then it would be easier to shave but then likewise also easier to check if shaved? Seems this is a better solution to cutting the bat open whereas it would now be destroyed if legal? If you could get the end cap off to check legality, worst case is having to put the end cap back on if legal which if done correctly is NOT considered an altered bat, correct?
Hi Gary - Is it possible? Well, anything is possible. However, that is not the way composite bats are made today. Please view this, courtesy Dave Valasquez: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt-z96nLXNs&t=4s It will give you an idea of how composite bats are made. I don't think the overall process has changed that much. I'm certainly not an expert, though.
"EXACTLY"
From T-ball all the way up to oldest seniors, male and female, you will never
stop people shaving bats. They been shaving bats or altering them from day
1 when aluminum bats came out. I've learned to deal with it and move on.
