How long did you do do the longer step, was it walking or overstriding in swing practice

Batter’s Box.
The batter must take an initial position with his back foot behind a line defining the
front edge of home plate. The batter will be called out if he hits the ball when the back
foot is completely forward of that line.

How will this effect hitter's who have a strong hip rotation which includes moving the rear foot forward quite a bit. Many have the lead foot on the forward batter's box line. Set up deeper in the box and hope the pitcher doesn't pitch to the front of the plate?

I cannot find a rule stating that the batter is out if the back foot is in front of the plate. I know that is a USSSA rule and emphasized by that sanctionong body. When I look at SSUSA rule book I find the definition of the Batter's box stating:

At least some portion of both feet of the batter must be on the line or withing the batter's box.

Rule 1.33 Illegally Batted ball states: The batter is out if--
the batter hits the ball fair or foul and:
The entire foot is outside the lines of the batter's box and on the ground;
Any part of the foot is in contact with the strike zone mat.

I may be missing it, but please let me know where that is in the rule book.
