Feb. 19, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Where is he now? I find it very interesting that someone's very first post on this board is to stir up trouble and every post since then has followed suit. It brings back some very unpleasant memories of the board filled with name calling, negativity and other personal attacks that have been absent for a while, much to the delight of many here. If you know so much about the two suspended posters, yet this was your first post under the name logan, then you obviously used to be on here another name which some have alluded to here. If you do not like the way topics are being discussed on here, why don't you quit the whining and complaining and just go away. But no, like with your supposed friend Gary C (wink, wink), that will not happen. You will continue to hijack threads, contribute nothing worthwhile and generally just be a thorn in everyone's side. That said, I will take one piece of advice from you and never respond again to any of your negativity and worthless input you post here. |
Feb. 16, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: top of your game Thanks a lot Leroy and Dave. You guys both have great teams and a great bunch of guys. Good luck to you this coming year. |
Feb. 16, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: top of your game Wagon487 is Pat. He thought he was putting the keys in my bag and I tore my bag apart a few times looking for them before he figured out he probably put them in a different bag. |
Feb. 16, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Thanks to Kayson, Pete and Curt! I was glad everything worked out too because all our cold beer was in that van and we were so ready for them after those games with ENR. Thanks again guys. |
Feb. 14, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: TOC Updates In the 50 Major division, Metro Stars won in a very tough battle over ENR. Having to win twice, ENR won the first game in the bottom of the 7th but Metro pulled out the final game in the bottom of the seventh also. ENR put up a hell of a fight and was a very classy team! |
Feb. 7, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: Bats Discussion: what does mm stand for with combat bats MM stands for Mike Macenko and his name is on the yellow Senior combat. The new Senior Combat coming out is blue and is supposed to be very similar to the yellow one. There is also the original Senior Combat which is grey. Some people prefer the grey over the yellow but they are both great bats with a lot of pop. I have both and have found the grey a bit more durable than the yellow but they are both very durable compared to other brands. |

Jan. 31, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: Bats Discussion: Has Anyone Else Had Problems With The Reebok ME'LEE Legend Senior Softball Bat Because Mine Cracked After 45 Hits Any Durability Problems? Surf88, while I respect everyone's opinions here, this is a forum for softball players to share information and I think the fact the these bats are touted as being so durable is the reason why this is a topic that should be shared here. While it is true that maybe the company will do something for all the people that have these durability issues, it still doesn't change the fact that almost-new bats are breaking and the reason I and many others have purchased these bats is the highly touted durability. I do not like having to take my time to deal with this issue even if they do take care of it. It still takes me time and money to resolve it when the only reason I bought this bat was for the supposed durability. Coming from someone who is affiliated with the company, I do not think it appropriate to make veiled threats that if people speak about their problems with the product, that they may not get cooperation from the manufacturer. |
Jan. 30, 2011 Pitcherman | Topic: Bats Discussion: Has Anyone Else Had Problems With The Reebok ME'LEE Legend Senior Softball Bat Because Mine Cracked After 45 Hits Any Durability Problems? Broke my senior 27 EL Reebok yesterday after about 50-75 swings indoors using regular balls. It still had the plastic on it. Not sure if they will do anything for me on it but if not, I will go back to my Combats which are way more durable. |
Dec. 18, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Plate & Mat as Strike Tater, I am a pitcher and I play SPA and SSUSA. I am fine with the mat as a batter and love it as a pitcher. I think it removes a lot of often questionable umpiring and arguing from the game. As a pitcher, I sometimes don't like that what would have been a strike without the mat is not one with it. But on the other hand, I love throwing a curve ball that hits the back inside of the plate for a strike without ever crossing it. |
Dec. 18, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: How many guys have had the pleasure of playing with their son(s)? Mark, it must be cool to play with your son on the same team, especially if you are still playing at a high caliber like you said. I doubt that I will ever get that chance though as I am 54 and my son is 6. I hope to still be playing when he is older but not with the young boys. |
Dec. 17, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Pitchers rubber If anyone has been pitching for 37 years and not seen the ball bounce off the rubber, then they don't play much or they have the best groundskeepers in the country. I have been pitching for 25 years and have seen this happen numerous times. The only time I have been hit in the head was due to this happening and I was just able to turn my head quick enough to avoid the ball right in my face. I agree the rubber is necessary though as without it, I know I would be stretching the limits by pitching as far back as I can get away with or from the side. The first thing I do now when I get on the mound is start kicking away the white lines and end up pitching more than 6 feet behind the rubber until the ump gets on me. Without a rubber, it will be even harder for them to tell how far you are outside the box. Just like batters kick away the batter's box, so do the pitchers. |
Dec. 12, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: hey staff I agree with both Harry and Joe. It would be much more fair if only individual posts were eliminated as people do put a lot of time and sometimes research into their posts. In addition, I do not understand why threads are continuously deleted and no action is taken against the party that caused the deletion. We assume they were deleted due to the poster breaking the rules of the board, so why is the poster not penalized for their actions? |

Nov. 29, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Who'd a thunk... I try and respect everyone's opinion on this board but I do get really, really tired of this site's self appointed spokesman for all of senior softball as if they have polled every single senior player for their opinion on every possible subject. I do not remember seeing any requests for input on the subject of bat rolling but I can tell you that most of the players I have spoken to personally do consider it a form of cheating but I am not going to try and tell you that represents the entire senior softball community. That's not saying people don't do it as they may consider it a lesser degree of cheating but when they talk of it, it is in hushed tones as they don't want to advertise it as they know it is cheating and against the rules. Below are many quotes from just this one thread where someone attempts to speak for the "majority" of players instead of himself and his little softball world. "Rolled bats are not thought of as illegal or giving a player an unfair advantage by most players." "Most players don't care about rolling is what I said." "Not an issue for most players irrespective of anything else." "Most seniors do not feel that bat rolling is cheating and someday the rule will be changed." "I get it's considered cheating, TH, it's me who doesn't consider it cheating as don't most of the guys I play with and against." |

May 22, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: ACC Bracket Seeding I'm sorry mom, I will take responsibility for my own actions and if Johnny jumps off a cliff, I won't do it too. |
May 22, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: ACC Bracket Seeding Dave, I think you and your staff do a great job and do not disagree with what you say at all. However, if a team does take positive action to determine their schedule, talks to the tourney director, provides their contact info and is told that they will be contacted, then that should happen. I agree the best way is for the director to give out his number for the team managers to contact, but my understanding is that's not what happened here. The director could have easily said, here is my number, it would be better for you to call me. I also appreciate that you update the web-site data but would certainly think in this world of email and web-sites we live in, that this would and should be normal procedure and would certainly make the communication of schedules easily accessible to all. If you happen to read this tonight and have contact info for the tourney director, it would definitely be appreciated as they are calling for a lot of rain tonight. I hope you have a nice vacation. |
