| May 22, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: ACC Bracket Seeding Dave, I think you and your staff do a great job and do not disagree with what you say at all. However, if a team does take positive action to determine their schedule, talks to the tourney director, provides their contact info and is told that they will be contacted, then that should happen. I agree the best way is for the director to give out his number for the team managers to contact, but my understanding is that's not what happened here. The director could have easily said, here is my number, it would be better for you to call me. I also appreciate that you update the web-site data but would certainly think in this world of email and web-sites we live in, that this would and should be normal procedure and would certainly make the communication of schedules easily accessible to all. If you happen to read this tonight and have contact info for the tourney director, it would definitely be appreciated as they are calling for a lot of rain tonight. I hope you have a nice vacation. |

| May 20, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: Bats Discussion: SHAVED BATS? Can someone please tell me why someone on an open message board for a topic we are all so passionate about would degrade people so much for their differing opinions and call them ignorant, clueless, whiners, self serving, in the minority, unaccountable, unmanly, gutless and non-credible because they don’t state their true name here and above all masturbators? Also, if you don’t want to armor up, risk your life with bats and balls needed to make men with declining skills feel good about themselves and put up screens in the middle of the field to change the game in a manner never seen in all our years of playing ball, you should step down because you are not a man? No answer necessary! |
| April 29, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: To screen or not to screen... I have been pitching for 25 years and the last 5 years I have played major/major plus and I can and do field the middle. I will play no matter what bat/ball combo is used but seriously doubt that I would play with a screen. A huge part of the game is defense and a screen changes the defensive game in a way that nothing else has done in my lifetime. I believe that there is no reason but ego and/or declining skills that requires the bat/ball combo that we use in senior ball. People can say all they want that the majority would only play with the hot ball/bat combos we have now in senior ball but we all know that is not the truth. True ball players will play regardless. |
| Jan. 28, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Anonymity on the board My name is John Moore and I don't care who knows it. However, I think that stating that people's opinions don't matter unless they declare their identity has no merit at all. I have been reading many posts on here and while I do see some distinct differences of opinion, I do not generally observe real animosity or anybody just trying to be stupid or post comments just to stir up trouble. I see truly valid opinions and mostly constructive comments and have no idea why stating your identity makes your opinions or comments any more valid or meaningful. |

| Jan. 15, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Good info The only time I have been hit near my head was due to a bad hop. It was a hard shot back up the middle. I went down for the ball and the ball hit the rubber. I had no chance to get my glove back up and just instinctively spun my face out of the way and it drilled me in the side of the head. Lucky for me I have a hard head. I was amazed that I only ended up with a nice headache. So, I can see someone turning their head due to a bad hop and the side protection saving them. |

We play in most of the big tournaments and some local also but we haven't set our schedule yet. We should be having a meeting soon to firm up our plans for this year. |
| Jan. 3, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Knee Pain I totally agree, weight is a huge factor and I shouldn't have said my only option was a new knee. I am currently changing my lifestyle (not a diet) in order to help me lose weight, keep it off and keep playing ball. I started out at 250 lbs and have lost 12 pounds so far and already feel a difference. I will probably still take the pills and ice all the time as it all helps. However, everything I have been told from doctors and therapists is to avoid squats above all the knee exercises. |
| Jan. 3, 2010 Pitcherman | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Knee Pain I have had the injections 4-5 times and while they do help some, if your arthritis is as bad as mine, it is not significant help. My only resolution is a new knee and I want to put that off as long as possible. I take 800mg motrin and 750mg vicodan about every 4 hours during tourneys. |
