I use a Reebok Melee and have never had a bat rolled and yet the more hits you have legally with the Melee, the more the outer paint surface has extensive cracks. I have never rolled or shaved a bat and yet as stated, the outer surface is all cracked up. One of my Melee`s even has much of the paint missing and yet it is legal. |

We pay dues and fees and I do not think it too much to expect as an organization to provide as a service to its members, the results of a tournament that ended four months ago. Eventually...No time certain... specifically when? maybe never? I know you can do better. I think it is an obligation that your members expect. |

| Jan. 26, 2016 cuda65 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: illegally batted ball We had a left hand batter with great speed often take a half or three quarter swing and hit the ball DOWN THE THIRD BASELINE and beat it out if there were no runners on base. In all of the ten or twelve years he played , he was only called out one time for the chop or bunt rule. It was a half swing not really a chop or bunt. Opposing teams never appealed the play. |

| Dec. 2, 2015 cuda65 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: For 70 and over. 11 players on the field. Like or Dislike I don`t get why some guys are complaining about that extra infielder. Just hit the ball somewhere else and it gives another player a chance to get on the field. I`ve [played many games since I played in the 70 division and I don`t hear any complaints. Our league in Cleveland which is a 55 and over league and a very competitive league uses 12 men in the field. It will lower your batting average so that should be an incentive to hone your skills. No need to change the rule in my opinion. |

My question then is why would it be an umpires judgment call when in fact, it hit foul and went by the base in fair territory. Where is his judgment involved if it clearly went by the base. I understand your explanation, if it were really close on passing inside or outside the bag. Thanks again. This forum is the best because you have so many experienced individuals out there. Batter hits a ground ball that hits in foul territory first then hits a pebble and goes into fair territory and passes the bag in fair territory. Is this a fair or foul ball? Stumped in deep south Texas. |

It seems to me there is no harm in doing that since the pitcher was still in the dugout putting on his equipment. As soon as he crossed the foul line, I tossed him the ball. |
