Discussion: Bat Shelf-- Who Has One?

I left out the part that this is for the Black Ops bag. For the Special Ops bag cut the upper section pipes 2" longer since the bag is slightly taller.

Discussion: Bat Shelf-- Who Has One?

Here are the materials and sizes provided on a different site. I have not made one but plan to. The shelf size will need to be trimmed down.

2- 10ft sticks of 1/2in pvc (1 stick if you are not doing a double shelf)
4- 1/2in T fittings (only used if you do a double shelf)
8- 1/2in 3 way 90* elbow
1- 9.5in x 11in wood/plexi glass (2 more if doing double shelf) Wood needs to be cut not the exact measurement on the wood.
You will have to notch out 4 corners on 2 of the pieces of wood
Handful of drywall screws
Hole saw whatever size your favorite beverage fits in
I put 2 pieces of wood on the top and underneath of the top shelf so the solo cup sits on the underneath piece of wood.

Measurements of pvc pipe (these are the actual sizes you need to cut the pvc)
4 @ 9in for height (4 more @ 12.25 for double shelf)
4 @ 4.75in for depth (6 if you are doing double shelf)
4 @ 8.25in for width (4 if you are doing double shelf)

Discussion: survey

I like the 1-1 count. It is better with a foul but I'll take either.
It changes the mentality of the batter. Especially if it is 1-1 no foul. In general the batter is much more aggressive at the plate. The down side is there are more hits up the middle with 2 strikes.

Dave- Sorry, I read "season 2017" as just the playing season of 2017 not the year of 2017.
I do hope it is installed again.

1 n 1 no foul was used in 2017 40's as a one year trial. People seemed to like it. I do not know if they are doing that in Phoenix this weekend since it is a 2018 turny. Kinda curious about that.

Discussion: cortisone shot

I've had a handful of them on various body parts. They do work as long as you rest a couple days after receiving one. Be careful though because it can make things brittle if you have more than one in the same area. I had two sets of shots for Plantar in a 6 month period. The 2nd set brought needed pain relief but while rounding third base I snapped/ripped one right in the area of the shot. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because I was forced to stay off it an rest for many months.
As noted by the guy above me it will not help with structural damage but I assume your Dr would not give cortisone as an option for a "cure" if he felt it was.

Discussion: Rating chart

JBTexas- It seems like you are asking for a public listing that has individual player rankings. If so you will not find such a list for all to see. It would make things much easier. You must memorize the history for which teams a player played, injury history/status, impact on the teams performance and so on to figure out how the player is ranked. Or something like that. lol Good luck!

Discussion: Bad experience for a Class Tournament - Worlds

I get it's a rule but there was not even a play at the plate. I would not even worry about it if he had touched home plate for the winning score with no play there. The team lost by their own accord. Getting upset over a miniscule incident with no play is not worth the energy. Go back as a team and work on the real reasons for the loss. Just my opinion.

What's the big deal? There wasn't a play and he was excited. No harm no foul. Let it go sir.

Discussion: Carrying bat

In my opinion anyone who carries the bat to first base or any other base should stop playing softball. You learned as a child not to do so because it's not safe. That person is purposely putting other people's safety at risk unnecessarily. If he won't stop playing or carrying the bat on his own then he should be banned or black listed.

Discussion: Looking for a Senior League Rule

I'm not so sure I like having a rule that you can't walk someone. Most walks I see are either to put the force on or because the pitcher knows a guy blows middle and does not want to get injured by some asshat trying to hurt him.

But as someone mentioned... what about the batter having fun? Softball is a team sport so if he gets on base from a walk he IS helping the team. We all know being able to help the team is the fun part. Play golf if you don't want to help a team win. Lol

I say keep it light. 12 to 16oz curls. To change it up try something stronger in the 1oz range as well.

Discussion: Bat for an ASA 52/275 ball.

Don't forget he is playing in a USSSA league so he is not looking for an ASA bat. He needs a USSSA stamp bat. He is asking if any USSSA stamp bats hit the 52's well.
