Not so sure on the Tulsa situation. This is from the same article TXNIGHTTRAIN listed. I assume we would be "organized sports activities"??

https://www.joplinglobe.com/coronavirus/oklahoma-gov-stitt-announces-three-phase-plan-to-reopen-state/article_958169ce-84ef-11ea-ac81-8b383e8c55b4.html

Second phase

If hospital and incident rates “remain manageable” for 14 more days following the implementation of Phase 1, Stitt plans to move to Phase 2.

Phase 2 allows nonessential travel to resume, along with organized sports activities. Funerals and weddings can be held with more than 10 people. Children and nursery areas in places of worship can reopen. Bars can open as long as there is diminished standing room occupancy.

As an outfielder, I agree with the above, the outfields were/are Shadow Rock bad. Weeds and bumpy. Standing water in Right Center fence line on Field 5 Sunday for some reason.

Out of the 43 teams in the tourney, 26 were in the 50s, 55s, and 60s and the breakdown by state was:
Missouri 9
Kansas 4 (all close to the KC area)
Oklahoma 4
Nebraska 3
Texas 2
Arkansas 2 (host state)
Wisconsin 1
Illinois 1

Scrap Iron teams come frequently to the KC area for tournaments. With Rogers, too long of a drive and no way to fly without your own plane.

Well run tournament in Rogers, Arkansas this year. The weather cooperated which was unexpected (thought it would be hot and humid, it wasn't so bad). Question for SSUSA, how many more years will it be in Rogers? Only 43 teams in the entire tourney, as the 55 division had only 3 Major (St. Louis, Wisconsin, Texas) and 3 AAA (Omaha, KC, Tulsa) teams, and 50s AAA (Lincoln, St. Louis, KC) had only 3. I understand how the politics of site selection work, but hopefully the MWC comes further north back to the Kansas City/Columbia area to draw more teams in the next contract go-round.
That said, again hats off to people who put the tourney on this past weekend.

Discussion: ASA Bats Not Allowed in Vegas

Player from Oxnard was called out and ejected in our 55M game last week for using the ASA Miken Freak (the same one half our Senior league is using on Mon-Wed). Umpire said (and it was confirmed) that all managers were told of this at the manager's meeting. Don't know why the bat is "illegal" however...

Back to the topic...

The facilities at the Rocky Mountain tourney are some of the best in the country. We played at both the A and B complexes and you wouldn’t know the difference. Infield’s were good, and yes, the grass was a little long in the outfield (and as an outfielder it did make you sprint to the ball...sore legs after each day), but that grass was thick and full and had very few weeds. Can’t say that about the facilities at the Midwest in Rogers, Arkansas (almost Shadow Rock grass fields quality).
Pros of Aurora Sports Complex: Location, fields, room for BP, restrooms, concessions, weather, 320’ fences, thin air, dugouts, etc.
Pro/Con: Heavily patrolled parking lot..lol
Always a good time in Aurora. How only three 55M teams participated was disappointing however. This tourney should be on many more team’s travel list.

Yes Nancy Allen, same game. I play for a different team and we were next up on that field and watched the whole debacle. Yes, it was about 20 minutes and rather strange. We all couldn't believe they flipped a coin. I think it was a fail on the part of the umpire and tourney directors with that situation. But, alas, learning moment (I Hope).
