May 23, 2018 Wehwah 1 posts | Hip Replacement Hi, I informed today that I have to have Hip Replacement Survey. This is not a surprise as I have had hip problems my entire life. The Dr. floored me when he said I can't play softball anymore. I am 60 and in good shape (besides my hip). Is anyone playing after Hip Replacement Surgery? If so any advise? I will have the surgery in 9/18. Thanks Wehwah |

May 23, 2018 ranhum 7 posts | Wewah, I had my hip replaced about 18 months and have been playing with permission from my Orthopedist that did the replacement. He is not a fan but did put a ceramic ball in, instead of the Titanium because I am active and he said it would wear longer. They don't like you being to active because they know they will have to replace again sooner then expected. I will need to get my other hip replaced within the next 2 years. :( Rando |

It's a different type of procedure that allows people our age to be able to continue to play sports like softball, basketball, soccer, etc. Had one done in 2009 and the other in 2014. Not surprised that a hip replacement surgeon would say not to play softball any longer. |
