April 21, 2018 k man Men's 65 326 posts | double bag at 1st Just curious about rule interpretation for rule 2.3C4 Once a batter-runner reaches 1st base, the double base shall be treated as one base and the fielder or runner may use either portion. Does this refer to only a play that has happened after a runner has crossed 1st base on the original play or include where the 1st baserunner can stand for the at bat of the next batter - in other words runner is completely in foul territory by one of two feet. Yes I get it, this is one of those rules where someone will say common sense should prevail, would still appreciate knowing literally where the 1st base runner may stand and not be in jeopardy on the next at bat for not being in contact with the base. Thanks |

April 21, 2018 k man Men's 65 326 posts | Thanks BJ and Staff, I've just assumed the managing role so I am trying to familiarize myself with the rules. btw, I'm a lefty batter. I get it. One that also came up was when a player on another team challenged my players position in the batters box. His feet were 1/2 out of the box but on the line. The umpire called it correctly that he was good as long as he's part touching the line. I found that one when I was going through the rule book. |
