Discussion: MLB discussing allowing anyone to bat in 9th inning

MLB executives kicking this around to bring excitement to game. Apparently MLB has noticed all other sports allow their best players on the field when the games are on the line. This should send the purists to an early grave. Sounds like a great idea for softball debate.
Really asinine!
Sounds a LOT like my Grandson's Tee-Ball league. Not a viable idea in my view.
I just checked-it is not April first yet. You sure this is not fake news? LOL
This would be a stupid idea, for sure. As a matter of fact, why not just bring out anyone watching the game from any team if you need him?
Joe, it's stick, how are you? Miss seeing you on the field!!
A league I play in used to have a rule where a team was allowed to drop up to 5 batters in the line up. One intent of the rule was that if a player from a team was ejected and there was no sub available that spot in the order would be skipped over--no out. What ended up happening was if a team was down in the last inning and had their bottom of the order up rhyme would skip up to 5 spots and most likely have their top of the order up--which was the main intent of the rule--make games more competitive. Dumb rule and it ticked off a lot of players. It was scrapped, thankfully.
Not a good idea. If you have a big bucks pitcher and he is pitching a great game and the 7,8,9 batters are due up, yet the other team can bypass those in favor of letting their best players bat, it's kind of a disservice to the pitcher and the money you're paying him. You're removing part of the equation of the game.
