March 29 Brock Men's 80 84 posts | You may be thinking of a different Scrap Iron team. This Scrap Iron Reds team is a new 70s team. The team name moved up from the 65 level from last year and some of the players are now 70 and playing on the team but it is a new team. You may be thinking of the Scrap Iron Phiten 65 team that won the SSUSA Worlds last fall at the AAA level and were moved to the major level last November. They finished third this week in Mesquite. |
March 29 DieselDan Men's 75 602 posts | No, I was referring to the new 70 SI Reds. I play rec ball with Bob Bennett, who moved up from the 65 Reds and it seems this new 70 team has already had some success. They've beaten some 70 Majors already. |
March 29 DieselDan Men's 75 602 posts | Oh yeah, Mustangs OC won (damn!) the "if" game by two runs over the AZ Ancients in 65AAA. Us Ancients played the Mustangs four times during our eight game run. As it turned out, we only played CA teams which was different since there were two CO teams (SI), and one each from UT, and NV. |
