Definitely not a sanctioned tournament. Been doing this one and others for. 13 or 14 years. normally 20 to 28 teams. All ages. just a lot of fun and get teams started up for the year. As for moving up I am not playing any more but Tharp still runs the Fire team and I would hope he appeals that move up.If they were really a major team they would gladly move up. Time will tell. Thanks for the congrats.

We'd like to thank all 21 teams that participated in our EarlyBird tournament. A special thanks to the Baytown Rec Dept for working many hours to get 6 fields ready for play on Saturday. They did one heck of a great job. This tournament was a huge success due to the super teams in Texas and Louisianna. A lot of good softball, new and renewed friendships were brought together. Thanks to everyone and hope to see many at our March 23rd tournament. GT

Someone please explain the rule change for AAA. Played 50AAA in Phoenix in 2010 & 11. It was 3 home runs then an out at that time. What has this new rule changed? Just like some clarification. Appreciate someone clearing it up for me.
PS one and one doesn't save any time. My 2cents.

Missouridave, you are totally right. Runner has to get out of the way. Been that way in SSUSA for a long time. There is no ifs/ands/ or buts about it. Hard to believe some comments about this. Read the rules guys. Men want to go home in one piece after a game.
CaptKirk, see what you started? lmao. See you in Feb. at our annual EarlyBird. Good luck all.

Capt Kirk. Read sec 8.2 Batter-Runner is out. Ball does not have to be thrown. Too bad your umpires don't make the call. It happens quite often and doesn't get the proper call. Good luck

Discussion: When is the last time you saw a pitcher have to leave a game from getting hit or get seriously hurt?

Houston, Tx. Feb this year. Pitcher from Relentless 50AAA team. Hit in the left arm, suffered a broken arm. Have seen others. Hard to believe, you haven't seen something like this or something that has put a pitcher out since 1979. Has happened to me at least twice in 8 years. Has happened to others I have seen during this time span. No gear would have prevented pitcher from Relentless. Must be others out there also. Just my 2 cents.

We'd like to thank the 23 teams that played in Baytown this past weekend. Your participation made it another great time. We did try a new format to see how it would go, since there were so many teams involved and especially with out of town teams. We weren't sure how it would go and didn't want to keep teams til real late. We hope everyone enjoyed the EarlyBird and will advise when another will be held. Along the way, I might be helping others run their tournament,ie putting out the info for them, so if you have a weekend open and someone is running one, hope you will play and enjoy a great time of softball. Again, thanks to all.

Discussion: Houston tournament

Our scheduled tournament for Feb. 18th at Baytown has been cancelled due to the weather. We have changed the tournament to Feb. 25, still in Baytown. Just a week later. Please advise Jim Tharp or myself if you intend to attend on the 25th or not. We understand changing might affect some teams and we will need to make new brackets. We were set with 26 teams and hope all of you can still make it on the 25th. Thanks for understanding. GT

Army, Ist Inf Div. 1/28th 11B. Salio2k, my base camp was Quan Loi, but never spent much time there. Tet-68 was happening. Never thought I'd run across any one else who had ever heard of Quan Loi. Glad you and all the rest made it back.
