Ejected player and later in game to ask player to leave park for running his mouth outside dugout.. Next day coach of team ask director to take me off his game and they did so without taking other ump off field who was working with me on game in question.. The director attacked my integrity of the game (that I very much love) because we enforced a situation where one of throwers own players almost got hit with the bat. I do not and will not ever umpire senior softball games after they made it look like the bad guy.. Oh yeah the bat did fly further than the infield fly with bases loaded.. |

I know Yinz are all old guys but if Yinz would hustle in & off the field, no pitches between innings and have 1st batter ready to go there should be np get 7 innings played.. I ump a lot of senior games and play so I know what I speak of.. Also as an ump for the pittance they pay us it's not in our best interest to be doin 2 hr games.. the powers to be don't want to pay us what we're worth but they want us to be the guy in the middle to keep all Yinz happy.. Just my .02.. KEEP PLAYN THE GAME WE ALL ENJOY IN OUR GOLDEN YEARS ... |

The smart thing for an infielder to do is always throw the ball to 1st base on a bobbled ball because many times I've seen runners hit white base but no throw was made.. Any time there's a play made on batter/runner at 1st base they have to hit orange base.. So infielders always make the throw no matter situation.. Umpires should catch it if paying attention to game.. I've never had to call it cause guys give up on play to easily.. |
