Discussion: Travelling question

My club has the privilege to play in the TOC and we are flying out in a few weeks.
I am worried about checking my equipment and it arriving in Florida.
Two questions:
1. Should I be worried ?
2. Are there any suggestions to safeguard my gear from theft, loss or damage ?
Thanks.

With all the posts about loading up a club for a big tourney, does this (can this) happen with the T.O.C. ?
We have qualified and are going to "run what we brung" and compete with the team we had during the 2015 season.
Should I expect to face a club of all-stars instead of the club that qualified ?
Thanks for your input.

Discussion: SCREENS IN TOURNAMENTS

How about this ?
Mark (chalk) off a 12 inch to 16 inch lane up the middle. A hit ball in this location is a DBO (dead ball out), runners do not advance ..... an out. That would make the hitter go one side or the other; and potentially protect the pitcher.
Played in a tourney last week and we had the other club go after my guy up the middle it was stupid.
Just my 2 cents.
Mornin Jeff.

SSUSA,
Thanks for getting the seeding games on the board for Vegas. (Seems like you do not hear that a lot).
See ya next weekend !

You know Randy, I wondered if it wasn't the bats at all but some of the balls that went bad. I hit a few balls that left the bat like an old 14 inch ball (just kind of wobbled out).

Bill,
One of our middle infielders swears by the Nokona, fact is, I think he is breaking in a backup model now.

Tommy,
No idea where you are located, but look on Craigslist for Prescott, AZ under sporting goods. I saw one just now. $75
Maybe you can make a deal with the seller; contact info on CL is "Don" at 928-830-6645 (no texts says the ad).

Discussion: Tournament Results

Just to stir the pot, a few observations if I may:
1. Dave, on your list a daily tasks I see three (3) days of all-day travel. That's like 20 hours of doing nothing around the airport but watching stewardesses (okay, okay you win on that one).
2. This guy, E6 in AZ is a genius if you ask me, in March of 2014 he (I) asked for tourney results and even suggested that the "tourney-masters" take a photo of the completed brackets (with scores) and post them as a PDF file on this website. But that idea kinda cuts your proprietary "TRUMPS/THE ROCK".... well you know what I mean.
3. A five (5) year SSUSA card costs $60, so $12 a year. At 25,000 players that is $300K. This does not include the monies from tourney fees and t-shirt sales. But let's say those money makers pay for the fields, umpires (Hi Carl, hope to see you in Flag.) and what-have-you costs. I did not even mention the fees being raked in by the online merchants that I few every time I logon.
Dave, you need some help and I think the money is in the budget. Hell, SSUSA should hook up some college kids (interns) who are studying Sports Management and pay them zero.
IN conclusion I do want to say, thank you for what you do for these players and myself. If I wasn't messing with you I would be harassing the wife and at $12 a year, you guys are cheaper than the "big d"

Bam ! Back to the top of the pile.
This organization is well ran, organized and professional. We respect and give 100% to every aspect of this game. People want to be here.
If you can help this team be even better, get in contact with AOS.

Discussion: Soccer shoes

We had a teammate using soccer cleats and he has since changed to a turf shoe. I understood that the long cleats and rigid sole was too much for an entire weekend of tourney play.
I went to a hiking tennis shoe looking product and love them (they have somewhat of a "luggy" pattern on the sole). Lightweight, breathable and very comfortable. It is not like I am going to break any speed records rounding the bases. (I do carry a turf shoe with a longer cleat in case I need to play the outfield. I worry about slipping in the grass and injury to my hamstrings, both.)
Comfort means a lot.
Just my 2 cents.

We completely understand that from yesterday (7/14/2015) on we play in Major. It is what it is. Looking forward to the challenges of competing against different teams and players.
The point at hand is since we have qualified for the TOC as a AAA club twice so far this year (via the Hemet and Las Vegas tourneys), we should be allowed to compete as a AAA club at the TOC.
As stated previously, it is a privlege that we have earned.
Just waiting for SSUSA to agree ...... or not.

D,
I agree there needs to be more teams available within the upper divisions and I can assume that this is the manner inwhich that can occur. I believe that there are other teams than us (and Phx Bulldawgs) who got moved yesterday, so I see SSUSA trying to fill in the gaps. In the Mesquite/St. George Tourney in March they only had two 50 Majors and Hemet last weekend had but three. It benefits the SSUSA (and the players) to do this. If my memory is correct, AZ now has one Major+ (Elite) and now three Major clubs (Guardians, Dawgs, Old School). It's a start.

SSUSA,
Please let me know if we go as a AAA club to TOC (we have earned this privlege). Thank you for the consideration.

JB, I agree with you but .....
I have heard both answers in the past 12 hours, we just need to hear SSUSA's position.
I could see the promotion effecting question #2 above, but it should not effect the TOC earned privlege.
