Discussion: I am 64 this year, can I play in 65+ tournament

Want to confirm I am allowed to play in 65-69 age bracket tournament Found old post on Google from 2018 that says the year that you turn a certain age determines your age group,no matter what the month. As an example, if you are 64 this year, next year you will turn 65. As such, you will be able to play with the 65 age group no matter the month of birth.

Been asked to play in 65+ but do not want to impact their eligibility

thanks
Wiffleball, you can play in the 65+ age group if you turn 65 at any point during this calendar year. For example, even if you don't turn 65 until December of 2024 you can start playing in the 65+ age group as early as January of 2024.

If you turn 64 in this calendar year (2024) you are not eligible to play with the 65+ age group until the Nov. Winter National Championships in Florida or the Nov. Winter World Championships in Az. Those two tournaments are viewed by SSUSA as tournaments for the next calendar year, and since you would be 65 in 2025 you are eligible to play in these two tourneys, but none prior.

Hope that helps.

thanks don't turn until Jan 2025 so will have to wait a little longer
