Dec. 14 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | This rule change is going to create an interesting set of scenarios, kind of in the weeds question. The question is, how long will it take for SSUSA to respond, not to this post, but rather to the causation/effect. 70AAA team picks up 3 69yr old guys from a major team. How long do they retain their major rating. If they were picked up when they became 70 their would retain for 1 year, so does that mean 2 years. Conversely, same with major team, if they picked up 69 yr old M+ would they retain M+ for 2 years instead of one. On the stealthy side, I could see waiting until after June 15th and then picking up 3 69 yr old players so as to avoid move up before worlds. Just Sayin |
Dec. 14 TimMcElroy 942 posts | Answer to Q1 & Q2- The 69s / 70s scenario works exactly the way it already does for the 75, 80 and 85s divisions where under age players are already permitted. Answer to Q3- Teams can be bumped at any time based on roster composition so this is a not a calendar issue. When a AAA manager adds the 4th out of rating / exception player, the team is bumped to Major (or given the option of dropping someone). |
