Nov. 1 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | 50s to 40s ratings 50-Major+ = 40-Major = "9" on Rating Index rankings (R/I chart is available from the TOURNAMENTS ► RULES page of this website) ... If you still have questions, please call Sacramento Home Office on weekday mornings (Pacific time) at (916) 326.5303 and ask for an eligibility person ... |
Nov. 1 VUSA44 7 posts | 50s to 40s ratings I'll have to call. What I found after posting is.... 4.2(7) • MAJOR-PLUS PLAYER RESTRICTION Major-Plus players may only play on Major-Plus or Major teams in their same age group. Players who have no Major or Major-Plus team in their region OR players who are determined not to be Major-Plus caliber by SSUSA may request an exemption in writing. |
Nov. 1 DaveDowell Men's 70 4323 posts | 50s to 40s ratings Don't over-think this! ... The rating index numbers are the controlling variable, and change by rating level from age group to age group ... The "prohibition" you quoted from Rulebook §4.2(7) is applied only in their same age group, just like it says ... A 50-Major+ (R/I=9) "history" guy may play on a 40-Major team (R/I=9) unrestricted OR as one of the three allowed "out-of-rating" players on a [1] 50-Major (R/I=8) or [2] 40-AAA (R/I=8) or [3] 55-Major+ (R/I=8) team ... ◄ That last one (55-Major+) is only a theoretical Math fit, since a 55-Major+ team has no roster limitations other than the player muist be otherwise eligible as to age and residence, but NOT experience history ... If you still decide to call, ask for me when you do and I'll guide you through the maze ... |
