With the 50's tourney moved to the end of October and in the Phoenix area, could a 55 major team play in their division in St. George and then 6 weeks later, play in the 50 AAA? My team might consider this a fun end of year wrap up if we're allowed to do it. Thx for any info I can get on this.

YES, you may ... Please contact the SSUSA Office at (916) 326.5303 to discuss it and learn what other criteria may be involved ... There's already one 55-Major+ team that has expressed an interest in playing in the 50-Major+ Division in Arizona ... Your 55-Major to 50-AAA participation is probably allowable, but Major+ must play younger also in Major+, unless they have played in a qualifier first at the younger age in Major ... See Rulebook §13.1(1)A.1. on page 62 ...

Thx for the info. I'm sure our coach will be calling soon. We have no major+ players on our roster. Not looking to destroy anyone. We'll be average in both tournies. But, you bring up a good point we hadn't considered. Could we then pick up 3 of our 50 major players whose team is not playing in that tourney this year?

I don't know ... But I do know enough to tell you to call the office and don't let anything I tell you about rosters get us both in trouble! ... Weekday mornings @ (916) 326.5303 Pacific Time and ask for someone in the "Eligibility Group" ... Good luck!

Am I reading this right? So any team can play in their age division then drop down and play in a lower age bracket and lower rating? what this says is a 55 Major can go win their age and division in September, then turn around and go win the 50’s AAA the following month. 50’s AAA can go play in the 40’s AA (if there is one).

Generally, yes, you may play down one age and one rating level ... There are limits on Major+ teams, which may do this ONLY IF they have played in a previous qualifier at the younger age and lower rating ... There may also be limitation/prohibition against adding players to your roster from the younger age group ... Please call the Sacramento Home Office at (916) 326.5303 weekday mornings Pacific Time if this is something your team is considering ... The call will not be a "theory exercise", so plan on full disclosure of the team/players who would be playing down ... Thanks and good luck!
