SSUSA is looking to hear from players (over 65) who’ve had meniscus surgery.

A recent study done by Johns Hopkins has added to the claim that a "common surgery designed to remove damaged, worn ends of the thin rubbery cartilage in the knee joint brings little or no benefit to people over the age of 65.”

Had this done two years ago, I think it made it worse. Had to have a total knee replacement, which worked much better, I was 72 at the time.

I had it done twice and it really helped until I ran out of meniscus than a knee replacement

I also had it done twice , once in 2014, I was 64 and that helped for two years and had my 2nd in 2016 which removed what meniscus I had left. I was told by the Doctor that a total knee would be my next option but I will take the 4 years that I have been give with this procedure.

I am curious if the study took into consideration you physical condition, I'm 6'3" and have always been around 205 and have always trained in the gym to some extent. Based on what I have seen I would say you condition, particularly your weight would have a bearing on this, just my opinion.

Had knee replacement in January. 8 weeks playing softball full speed.Same recovery time for partial or or full.Do the re- hab. Run in shallow pool works great. I am 74.I tried braces , injections, waste of time.No matter what you do total replacement is going to happen get it done so you can get started getting better.

Had them both done in my late 60's. Worked for a couple of years but now at 76, they hurt all of the time.
