Do we have this rule
Staff

In the American league play off game last night the catcher was throwing the ball to the pitcher with a runner on 3rd. The ball hit the hitters bat, rolled out on the field and the runner ran home.

Ruling-live ball runs scores.

What would happen if this happened in SSUSA?

How about if a throw from the catcher to pitcher hits the batter in the head and rolls out there which I have seen?

I'm going to say NO, because once the pitcher pitches the ball and the batter doesn't swing at it and it lands on the ground it becomes time out or dead ball and nothing is in play again until the pitcher starts to pitch the next pitch...I'm not a umpire but just guessing.

DOLFAN you are correct....once the ball hits the ground or strike mat it becomes a dead ball....the only time you will see that happen in softball in some associations they have stealing.....then the ball is alive
