May 20, 2015 rrengineer99 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: milwaukee tournament don't think i will go back and play in this tournament..absolutely terrible scheduling for out of state teams(if you were from wisconsin you had very good game times)..only 1 major team in 60's and having to wait 4 hours between our last game on sunday, which at the time we were 4-0, was ridiculous.. we choose not to sit around and wait at the park to play it, and everybody knows what it is like on your body after playing 2 games in am then sitting that long is not much fun..all the aches and pains set in. why such long wait between games mr. director?... |
Dec. 4, 2014 rrengineer99 | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Foot placement in batter's box before pitch so according to ssusa rule 7.5(c),see above, when i was called out, on a base hit, at the lv masters, which was the 1st time i can ever remember being called out of the box, my foot was half on the line and half out, in top of first, im 2nd batter ump plainly seen my foot print half in, half out..we argued, even measured batters box as it was to small, but he still called me out! i should of been safe.... |

Aug. 18, 2014 rrengineer99 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: toughest position just would like your thoughts on what position gets the hardest hit balls at them? i feel the pitcher gets his share of shots up the middle, especially when hitter has 2 strikes, but i think the hardest position to play is 3rd base. with the hot bats, big hitters, usually good balls, batters pulling the ball seem to get more on the ball than batters just trying to hit the middle for a base hit..your thoughts... |
July 3, 2014 rrengineer99 | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: midwest toc, shawnee,ks so when did ssusa decide to move sat. and sun. games to gardner? shawnee is a real nice complex but gardner complex looks like a cow pasture! why does ssusa have to be 2nd fiddle to another tournament, girls i understand? we travel and pay far to much $$ to not even be able to play 1 weekend a year at a decent complex, no less a so called midwest toc championship? this is totatly bs. |
June 22, 2014 rrengineer99 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Hitting with most of these tournaments now going to 1-1 count, at least the qualifiers it seems, does a good hitter take another strike and go to 1-2, or be ready to hit first pitch so as not to be forced to swing at a possible 3rd pitch strike that might not be what your looking for but to close to take, thus turning you from a good hitter to not being able to hit where you want, like behind runner,or to right field with no room for error.i prefer to be 1st pitch ready.. |

Dec. 10, 2011 rrengineer99 | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: courtesy runners now the people i see bitchin bout the cr's here are probably the ones that don't use the cr themselves, but for me, it's the only thing that has kept me playing this game at a high level that i enjoy playing at despite 6 knee surgery's, 4 shoulder surgery's,a heart valve replacement and 2 bulging disc's.i am thank full that i can get to first or second, and get a cr but really wish i could run for myself as i really don't feel like a COMPLETE ballplayer because i do need a runner due to all my injury's i have had, not just because he is faster. and at this age, 60, do we really have jackrabbits to begin with? you don't know how lucky you are to play this game at our age and if you haven't had injury's then you probably haven't played much ball in your career!! quit crying about the cr's, make the last out run, and enjoy this game as much as you can. life is to short...p.s..i am a infielder, play every inning, hate to come out of any game.cant wait for knee replacement this summer! |
