Beasley,
We don’t play a lot of SPA or ISSSA here on the west coast! There’s only 1 Major + team here, however that has changed this month since our promotion to the + division! SSUSA and our Southern Cal Senior association are what we have here in Southern Cali. There’s only 3- 50 major teams that we compete against on a regular bases & 1 + team or 2 if AZ Elite comes to town!…After playing in 3 SSUSA 50 Major events, winning 2 of the 3 we got promoted...Now our players LOVE to play and don’t mind competing in the Major + division…..But with so few teams there, we have decided to play in the 40 Major’s division where we will have more teams to play verses the 6-8 team Major + tourney this coming Vegas! Our team is made up from guys who played 50 Majors the last few years on different teams......The 40’s major division is just as competitive as the 50”s major + Division, with way more teams…. Those are the two divisions to combine……Eliamate the 50 Majors + division & make the 50 major team go play 40 majors, when promoted or create a 45 Major division & play there……I know, I’ll get a lot of BS from the 40’s guys, but really the level of competition is about the same! This will be our 1st SPA world, looking forward to the Southern & East Coast Competition…. Beasley will you be in Dalton?

Most players who can really play the game want to play against the best players in the Country!!!
Just NOT in a 2-3-4 team tournament!
The major + division is where you’re supposed to find those players. But for anyone 50 + there’s only one tournament a year that really matters, (SSUSA’s Vegas World) (or maybe 2 SPA world) where most of these players get together & compete……All the other tournaments during the year for major+, (IMO are just tune-ups for these 2 …That’s why I’m not a Fan of moving teams up during the season!!! If a new major team is formed, & they beat up on the existing major teams, let it be, then the next year give the guys on that team an option to move up to Major + or Disband!! I also think at the WORLDS the TOP 5 teams have to move up to the next division, if this was done 5 or 6 years ago, everyone would have plenty of teams to play against in all divisions & the teams that disband could go & form other teams & stay in the division of their liking. Just a thought!

Guys,
SSUSA will NOT MAKE any changes to the Major + division because we don’t buy enough beer!!
The dollars are in the AAA & AA divisions, that’s why SSUSA doesn’t give a flying F@@k about the guys who really know how to play the game…….The Home Run Rule being a walk has NOT Made that BIG of a different (IMO)They have some failed formula, that combines games played & a run different format, never taking into consideration the teams that you’re playing against or the fact that maybe your team is just having a good tournament. I know teams that have played won & NEVER get moved up….NO team should be move during the season, IF you start in MAJOR’s & qualify for the TOC, you should be allowed to at least play the WORLDs & the Nationals in the division, that way you get a chance at the triple Crown for that division & that season, !!!! But of course SSUSA WON’T LISTEN!!!!!They’ll say come to the convention, and then we’ll talk about it!!! There also should be a convention at midyear when you’re moving team during the middle of the season!! Because your appeals process falls on deaf ears once George decides……based off his half ass formula! This is why there has been a low turnout for tournaments this year….Teams are getting really tired of the BS!!

Well Rated athletics was coming to both, but after forming a new team for the 2013 season & playing in only 3 events for SSUSA we have been MOVED from 50 majors to major + thus we too will not be spending our $$$ for a 2-3 team tournments, therefore we will withdraw from the Cal Cup & Western Nationals....See you guys in the one & only good tourament, VEGAS BABY!!!!!

Hey guys, you can't go wrong with the new Blue Combat since it's the same design as the yellow one. Mike's a great guy to work with. I ordered 2 Yellow ones back in 2009, one crack this past season, with well over 1500 hits. It broke my heart! That was my MONEY BAT! The Gray one takes a little longer to break in, but is the most durable Senior bat on the Market.(in my opinion)The yellow I think has the most POP!

Discussion: Batting order

Hey guys,
I was wondering how most teams make up their batting order?
I have always been one who believes that there is a different between a Hardball line-up & a Slow-Pitch line-up.

Hardball line-ups are usually made up of speed with little power as Ur lead off. Speed & a little power as Ur #2 hitter & power 3 thru 6 with, Ur less consistent hitters bring up the rear. But with a slow pitch line-up, I believe your BEST most consistent hitters should be in the front of the batting order, with ur most consistent Power hitter batting in the 3 hole, hitters 4 thru 8 should be Ur smarter Bat control hitters regardless of power, as they seem to come up with runners in scoring position.

The 2 Hole should be your overall best hitter, including power, smarts & bat control!
I’ve always thought that Ur best hitters should be able to get the most at bats in a game! Regardless of their speed & power.
What you guys think?

Thanks guys for your input!
Mad Dog I hit with this trump USSSA 52/275 yesterday in BP.. about 100 swings,I must say it really sucks!
Don't beat me up..lol
I've already contacted the Director of the turnney, and he stated to bring our own balls just incase the teams start to bitch! This happen in the Toys for Tots turnney this past Dec. Guys complained and the Dir.felt the pressure and had teams throw in whatever balls they wanted to hit with. The only problem was some teams used 47 & 50 core balls, with U-trip bats, the Kids had a ball!!!!lol

So does that mean that they've gotten all the bugs out? I've when though 3 GBA's for a total of about 150 swings before they CRACKED, 30 on 1, 40 on another and about 50 on the WHITE GBA.
The video may be cool, but the BAT sucks!!!!

Gary19, at this age being able to do anything good is a welcome feat! It doesn't matter who provided the equipment. Don't you have a good time with the new bats? If I hit a ball 300+ with an Alumum bat, I'd get the same feeling! It has noting to do with ego! WINNING now that's another thing!I play to win! BIG EGO for winning!
Love the competiveness in people, but I'm sure we all still try to play the game the way we were taught.
(Our bodies just won't allow it)lol
We like new things, new toys as we call them! We all benefit from new technoloy, it's just the way of LIFE, Senior Softball included.

All I can say about the new Reebok, is WOW!!!!
I'm a Combat man and if the new Combat is anyway closed to this Melee I'm going to have issues with my BAT of choice!
The bat performed as everyone has stated, HOT right out the wrapper! put about 50 swings on my 27oz balance, most when 300+ feet!
The Sound of the ball coming off this bat is increible for a brand new bat!
I hope it's as durable as you all have stated!

Mavr19,
I wouldn't get on the GBA band wagon just yet! I ordered the White GBS got about 60 swings on it and it cracked along the seams...put another 30 swings on it and it's done..Still waiting on MR. Bill to get me another. brought the GBA model and got 40 swings on before it cracked....Bill sent me another and I got about 50 swings on it before it cracked....3 GBA for a total of about 150swings and they're all are DONE. I think spending over $300 bucks for these bats and I was able to use them for 2 batting sessions ONLY really SUCKS!!!!! So those of you who have stated that they GOTTEN 300 to 500 swings before it was EVEN broken in....well I would have to question those guys!

Had the plesure of hitting with the White veteran in live combat this past weekend..Still needs a break period for the distance...BUT WOW what seeds did i hit though the infield. I like this bat a lot, seems real durable, I already have about 400 swings on and it still look new..great paint job, doesn't seem to mark-up that easily. I have teammate that had the GBS model, he cracked his along the seams after 100 swings..I think the model has a fractory defect or maybe just this batch of GBS, I've never seem a bat crack along the seams...All n all I think this one is a keeper.....

Dirty, I don't want to get into a pissing contest with you guys...If senior Softball choses to dump down the game or equipment, I'm sure their pockets will feel the pain! You're right, I do have a choice not read all of same things you guys say...But I'm a player just like yourself & I hear from other players that are just tried of the same discussions. We just want to play Ball and if we can learn something from a good discussion, (which we have over & over on this topic) then there's not an issue!
You guys ask all the time why most of the players don't post, well this is one of the main reasons....The same topics over & over...I know I'm beating a dead horse in the mouth bye asking you guys to change the topic...But i thought I'd give it the OLD college try!!!!

How you doing Joe? you know I got noting but Love for you! This topic just got the best of me today...Didn't mean to cause drama!
