Sorry to hear about the player who got hurt.. but playing softball for over 30 + yrs freak accidents happen be it with a loose bag, sprinkler, errant throw or a batted ball and I seen my fill and experianced them all it seems. but to blame a certain bat? not logical.. let the players swing all bats rated 1.2 if you paid the money than you have the right to swing it.. I vote yes on the ultra 2 or any other rated bat that someones hard earned money paid for.

Joncon your the perfect example of what this board is coming to..someone who spouts off and says as you say Bonehead remarks without thinking what was trully being said! If I got you all riled up GREAT at lest your thinking now! like I said it would"t be for the money but my intergrity and others who could be harmed as a player and a person.. thanks PRO and I have also checked into this with a Lawyer friend of mine, and guess what your right on!! So Joncon let them take your bats and whatever else they want to but for gods sake don't let that get riled up!

I usually just sit back and smile at the bull that goes on here.. but this is about as stupid ad it gets.. do you really think that the SSUSA or other senior Orgs. are going to spend $$ to tell if a bat has been broke in by rolling,BP ormallet?? if they due there idiots just like some of the crap that is been said here.. remember your own career that you've played since you started playing softball! If you said you never tried to break in a bat faster with home remedy's back in the old days your just lying to yourself.. and you can get on here and play the holyer than thou .. but you know deep down.. Sounds like were getting to be JUST ANOTHER ASA money and more money, my best hitting bat (has a hairline crack) U2 but will it pass on these "NEW" machines?? Its stone stock but with alot of use..You take my bat and make it illegal for a game or a tournament.. I will sue everyone attached to that Organization.. not a threat just a fact! Bat Companys and Sales are making the money and probally have a percentage in the testing gear.. Lets play ball with the players wish's and attitudes in the forefront..leave the great game of softball fun and pure as it can be!!

Discussion: BAT AND BALL RESTRICTIONS

It's not the Bat companies that change the rules.. they produce a bat that meets the ASA or NSA etc. standards.. and then they change the rules of play.. All bats with a approval that meet the standards set forth when they are made should be legal period! We can get to the bottom of this by saying its profit driven..and who puts money into there pocket. I agree that this is complete bull with the bat changes over the last few years, but we as players need to help change this by going to tournaments that use the bats & balls we want! I remember when wooden bats were used then came the metal bats and everyone was saying it would ruin the game! Metal or alloy bats can be brought up to composite hitting ability with a little more development by the big companys.. But this is strickly dollars driven compsites are 10 x cheaper to make the metal bats..take away the compsites the next great bat will be a metal bat at twice the cost as the composites would have been.. Bottom line set a standard and leave it! grandfather in all bats that were approved in the past with the stamps., have the balls meet the needs of the players and weather conditions and lets play ball!! Sorry about the long post but I just needed to say it!

Sounds like another witch hunt..Tourament Directors need to take the $1000 for this new machine and put it back into field upkeep and training umpires.. or at least upgrading the prizes!! I agree with the comments all bats are not created equal.. some just hit right out of the wrapper and some need to be broke in.. composites are always in a state of breaking in cracking inside and out getting better and better.. so how does it test a bat with what standards?? or is this just another ploy to make us buy new bats all the time so we don't get called cheaters or worse suspended for no reason.. Better yet you better raise the tourny fees for all the lawsuits this will cause! just my opinion..

I agree with Bear..I love to play and it seems like this rule is to hold down players.. its easy to say or think just play in a upper AAA or Majors team hardest thing is to find a team to do it on.. I placed a message and was answered by a AA team so there I went, softball is softball, if sandbagging down in the lower division is your high.. so be it! but for me it is finding a bunch of good guys to play with.. so you guys give me the chance to play UP great.. CHANGE THE RULES TO AAA at least!!! just my opinion!!
