Discussion: Recommendation for balls

MISSOURIDAVE
We use the Trump yellow 44/375 ball here in Fl Half Century League for the last 4 or 5 years. Never have a complaint and we tried other brands along the way .I find it even in our hot weather that it is true and the home run hitters do not complain that it is a piece os S##.Most Senior tournaments here use the same.I personally like the ball and recommend it to my friends in other states. My opinion !!

Discussion: Should Umpires Be More Aggresive to inventory Bats before the game

In a tournament we went to a team used a bat which got passed on to as many as 8 of the players. After our catcher saw numerous home runs hit out he questioned the umpire who replied these guys can hit them out with wooden bats.Anyway the jest of the story they got caught at another tournament in which the bat turned out to be a ultra 1 painted as a freck 98. I realize umpires have alot to deal with but a statement like that should never be taken by any team.

Discussion: A story about weather

When I was young playing ball in Mass. I would look forward in playing in a snow ball tournament for charity each year. They painted the ball orange so we could see it in the snow. We had to on times use the shovel instead of bats!We always looked forward in playing at this event because of the fun.Now since I have located the past 20 years in Fl. and besides a few rain outs we play year round.I do miss the snow but not to shovel it!! Do they still have snow ball events for softball anywhere?

Discussion: Oxford Partial Knee Replacement

STITCH
Had Complete knee replacement 1 year ago back playing maybe not the same but the pain is gone. Get a second opinion on partial compared to total knee replacement. You will be able to play again but maybe not run as fast. There are so many Seniors still playing with partial or total knee replacements out there. You will be able to play again but make sure you have the right Dr. doing the operation?
Good luck and it will take time but you will be able to play again.

butch 17
I respect your comments on this subject
but when teams are rerated for not winning and spend $ for the heads and beds and our told go to 3 more tournaments and get the crap beat out of you then we will talk This attitude I have a problem with. The new rules do not help Senior Ball period. They will see when the tournaments have fewer and fewer teams coming.Next we will have to do our own umpiring along with scoring which we do know.Chasing ball is another subject. My take !!

Discussion: Batting Order Help

We at one tournament brought 3 players to just run!We let them hit in placement games only. They were aware that they were there to run only and had no problem with it.If you have a great team sometimes you will bat everyone present but I think the norm will be to least sit 1 out for injuries. With the re-entry rule in some tournaments you usually can get everyone in.

Discussion: Batting Order Help

If you have a sponsor that is paying you could bat everyone in placement games and when the bell rings if you have 11 or 12 players you could play them.Remember everything after 10 players you take a bat away from the top of the order. We played major and funded our own money so our motto was
you pay you play!I have played against some teams that batted 14 and 14 could hit it out.I believe that 11 or 12 is
pretty much the model. Also remember in case of an injury you need to replace the player otherwise it will be an out.

CAPTAIN MARAUDER
If you want to sell them at any time ,leave a message on the board and I will be happy to buy them.Believe me it takes 2000 swings to get it going.
You bought them on e-bay and you know what they are going for?I am not saying it is the best ASA bat around but it is as good as I have ever swung!! Good luck in canada on your season!

Discussion: 29 oz U2

JAMESLG
Dirty is correct they are hot out the wrapper.Go on e-bay or consider a worth launch-maybe cheaper which are as good as new U2. Anyway be weary of anyone selling a used U2 unless you get a good look at it before buying.
Unless someone has too many no one going to sell you a U2 which is hot!!

JAMESLG
You can buy them new for around 160.00+
on different sports web sites? That will
probably be a better deal than buying a used U2 that may not have much life left. Not too many people will sell a U2 that is hot for them.Good Luck!!
