Nov. 20, 2015 jackbrun | Topic: Tournaments Discussion: Winter World's Congrats to Prime Time for their first place finish in the 65 AAA tourney this week. They are a really good team and a class act. I also would like to say that the umpiring at Desert West was probably the best group of umpires that I have witnessed in any tournament that I have played in. Thank you so much for making it not only fair, but fun for all involved. Jack Brunschmid Manager No Guts No Glory |

Sept. 7, 2014 jackbrun | Topic: Bats Discussion: New 2015 combat centenarian short barrel Has anyone tested the 2015 combat centenarian short barrel bat? It is silver with blue lettering. I use the white short barrel and really like it but they are getting hard to find at 27 oz. Was wondering if the new bat's performance is the same and if it is the replacement for the white bat. I see that the barrel on the new bat is 10 1/2 inches vice 10 inches. |

Oct. 2, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: General and miscellaneous Discussion: Las Vegas Fields and Umpires We played at Shadow Rock Friday and the outfield was embarrassing. Weeds and uneven grass throughout. The umpire we had had no idea what the rule was for being out of the batters box or how many bases to award once the ball went out of play. Teams waiting to play were laughing at him he was so bad. BLD was great aside from playing at 4:30 with the sun directly over the pitcher. Hard to see while hitting for both teams. No issues with the umpiring crews at BLD. |

July 2, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Bats Discussion: Reviews for COMBAT DIRTY BAT I bought two 27 oz. end loaded dirty bats in February. I used one for BP using the tried and true break in method of 25 swings with 50% effort, 25 more with 75% effort and then taking full swings. It broke in very nicely and now am using it mostly for games. I have around 550 swings on it and it is performing great. The other is sitting in my closet. I'll start breaking it in tomorrow. |

March 18, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Catcher's verbal interference Just to clarify, it was in a co-ed league, a female was catching and she was saying "there it is" as the pitch was coming in. This has been allowed for many years by all the umpires and suddenly it is verbal interference? |
March 17, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Rules of the game Discussion: Catcher's verbal interference Before our game the other day, the umpire told our catcher that they couldn't say anything from the time the pitcher released the ball until it either hit the ground or the batter hit it. By doing so, it would constitute catcher's verbal interference and the batter would be awarded first base. Now, like most of us, I have been playing since I was old enough to walk and we all used to chatter during most every pitch. "Hey better, batter, SWING" was the norm. And that was when a little kid was trying to hit a pitch from another kid who had no idea where his pitch was going. Any ideas out there? |
March 14, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Bats Discussion: Centenarians review, 13" and 10" Thanks Allen. The white centenarian is the best bat for the money that I have found for me. I still have a couple left but probably should get a couple more. I'll be in touch. |
March 13, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Bats Discussion: Centenarians review, 13" and 10" I spoke too soon. In the last 9 days I have broken two of my white centenarians. One broke where the paint was chipped and the other where there was still paint. I had more than 400 swings on both bats and will continue to use them but I have learned my lesson and will use them only in games after they are broken in. |

Feb. 15, 2013 jackbrun | Topic: Bats Discussion: Centenarians review, 13" and 10" I have 3 white centenarians that are game ready and one in the closet. They are very durable as I have more than 300 BP and game hits on each of the 3. Paint chips are a problem but are only cosmetic. The bat still performs. |
