The 8th annual Texas State Championships will be held for a third time in Houston. Last year, more than 40 teams competed. Here is what players had to say:
“Playing in the Texas State Championship gives us a chance to earn a berth to the TOC in Florida. There are some good teams in Texas, so we encourage out of state teams to come and compete. We love the fields at the Houston Sportsplex.”
– GW (Billy) Starry, Gonzalez Insulation (TX), Men’s 60 Major-Plus
“In the past we have had teams from Canada, New York, San Diego, Illinois, Kansas, Colorado, Tennessee and Missouri. The surrounding states of Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico send teams every year. We are blessed to have a relationship with the Houston Sportsplex which provides one of the best non-artificial playing surfaces I have ever seen. The Courtyard by Marriott and The Springhill Suites really make the teams/players feel special while offering great rates.”
– Keith Parker, SSUSA Director
“We really enjoyed the Texas State Championships in Houston. The tournament was well run. The facilities were more than sufficientfor our needs and easy to get to. I look forward to seeing theTexas State Championships grow this year! ”
– Dominick Greco, Southwest Stars (TX), Men’s 80 AAA
