Charity abounds in 6th Annual Caribbean Classic

Bats, equipment and $3,250 in uniforms were donated to impoverished kids in the Dominican Republic during the 6th annual Caribbean Classic in Punta Cana in January.

The family of late Connecticut player Jim Caterbone asked his friends and family to send cash donations to Senior Softball USA, in lieu of flowers, to purchase softball/baseball equipment children in the Dominican.

In addition, USA team player Conway Waddy coordinated the donation of 12 youth bats from Smash It Sports – and is setting up even more bat donations for the kids.

Other players and guests brought new and slightly used softball equipment to be donated, as well.
