Feb. 1, 2022
Softball News Report
On January 29, long-time Senior Softball player Steve Schwartz, 74, "sustained a fall from his inversion table and suffered a spinal cord injury leaving him with little use of his arms and legs," according to his wife, Barbara.
Schwartz has played Senior Softball for 20+ years. He's played with Valley Fog 70 (CA), Triple Play 70 (CA), Damaged Goods 65 (CA), Redwood City Cardinals 60 (CA), Mustangs 60 (CA) and early teams such as Prime Time 55, Stixx 50, and Fifty Caliber.
"He is currently in a Rehab Facility in Phoenix and showing some signs of improvement" but is "relying on someone else to help with his everyday tasks," said his wife. After rehab, which consists of 15 hours of physical therapy weekly, “he will need a hospital bed and wheelchair and someone to help with his care at home." Barbara is unable to provide the amount of care he will need once he is able to go back home.
The family is asking you to keep Steve and his family in your prayers. They asked cards be sent to the address below:
