Rogers Welcomes Midwest Championships for Third Straight Year

ROGERS, Ark. – The 2018 Midwest Championships was held here at Rogers Regional Sports Park for a third straight year, with 45 teams competing July 10 – 15.

The tournament began with 14 teams in the Men’s 65 and 70 age divisions, July 10 – 12.

In the three-team Men’s 65 Major Division, top seed Handeland Flooring (WI) finished the week undefeated, going 3-0 in seeding play, before knocking off KC Kids (KS), 24-2, and Boyd Metals (AR), 27-11 (championship game), in bracket play.

Dallas Spurs (TX) ran through the three-team bracket in the Men’s 65 AAA Division, going 3-0, including a 21-9 win over top seed Mid-State Seniors (IL) in the championship game. USA Patriots (OK) finished in third place.

Robson Ranch Texans (TX) swept R & D Leverage (MO) by scores of 17-8 and 11-6, respectively, in a best two-out-of-three game series to win the Men’s 65 AA Division.

The top seed in the four-team Men’s 70 Major Division, Minnesota P5/Ancell (MN) finished the tournament undefeated with a 6-0 record (3-0 in seeding and 3-0 in bracket). Minnesota P5/Ancell defeated Okies (OK), 18-10, in the championship game to cap off the perfect week. Okies won back-to-back games in the elimination side of the bracket to reach the championship game. Boyd Metals (AR) finished in third place.

Avengers (MO) swept Midwest Express 70’s (IA) by identical scores of 15-14 in a best two-out-of-three game series, to win the Men’s 70 AAA Division.

The tournament continued July 13 – 15, with 31 teams in the Men’s 50 – 60 age divisions.

In the five-team Men’s 50 Major Division, Team Arkansas defended its home turf, going 2-0 in seeding play to lock up the top seed, before winning three straight bracket games, including a 15-5 victory over No. 2 seed KC Classics (MO) in the championship game, to cap off an unblemished weekend. KC Monarchs (MO) finished in third place.


Team Arkansas - Men's 50 Major Champion

The seven-team Men’s 50 AAA Division was won by Chitown Assault/Titan/T2Auto/DynaMac (IL), as the team recorded a perfect 4-0 record, including a 23-17 win over top seed KC Vintage (MO) in the championship game. American Mortgage Pro’s (OK) finished in third place after winning three straight games in the elimination side of the bracket.

KC Classics (MO) avenged their 14-11 loss against Nebraska Silver Bullets in the championship game of the three-team Men’s 55 Major Division, with a thrilling 18-17 win in the “if” game. 50 Caliber Plus St. Louis (MO) finished in third place.

Bear’s Ballers (MO) registered a 3-0 record in seeding play to secure the No. 1 seed in the four-team Men’s 55 AAA Division. The team continued its solid performance in bracket play, going 3-0 to finish off a perfect weekend, including a 12-11 nail-biter over KC Renegades (MO) in the championship game. TN Connection finished in third place.

In the five-team Men’s 60 Major Division, Central Illinois Chiefs 60s (IL) double-dipped previously undefeated and top seed, Peck Elite Sports (MO), winning the championship (18-15) and “if” (19-18) games. Peck Elite Sports defeated Central IL Chiefs, 34-24, earlier in the bracket to advance to the championship game. Pope Transport (WI) finished in third place.


Central Illinois Chiefs - Men's 60 Major Champion

Another Arkansas team that defended its home turf was Carriage Homes (AR), who took the top seed in the four-team Men’s 60 AAA Division following a 3-0 record in seeding play. Carriage Homes would go on post a 3-0 record in bracket play, including a 13-5 win over Oklahoma Street Outlaws (OK) in the championship game. KC Thunder (MO) finished in third place. For Carriage Homes, this marked their third straight Midwest Championship victory, as the team also won the tournament in 2016 and 2017.

Texas Legends 60’s won three straight elimination games, including going back-to-back wins over R&K Drywall (OK) in the championship and “if” games, by scores of 20-10 and 14-7, respectively, to take home the three-team Men’s 60 AA Division. Top Redwings (MO) finished in third place.
