2018 Heart of Texas Recap

GEORGETOWN, Tex. – The 2018 Heart of Texas was held here at McMaster’s Athletic Complex, May 17-20, with 59 teams in action.

In the four-team Men’s 65 AAA Division, top seed Dallas Spurs took the four-team division, going 3-0 in bracket play, including a 20-11 win over Houston Classic Seniors in the championship game. Hooks finished in third place.

Relentless 65’s swept Robson Ranch Texans by scores of 22-13 and 16-8, respectively, to win the Men’s 65 AA Division in a best two-out-of-three game series.

In another best two-out-of-three game series, San Antonio Silver Streaks swept San Antonio Legends by scores of 13-12 and 14-6, respectively, to win the Men’s 70 Major Division.

STILL won the five-team Men’s 70 AAA Division, going 3-0 in bracket play, including a thrilling 13-12 win over Texas Classics 70’s in the championship game. Austin Merchants finished in third place.

Hill Contracting 75’s won the three-team Men’s 75/80 Division, defeating Texas Legends 75, 19-6, in the championship game. San Antonio 80’s finished in third place.

In the three-team Men’s 60 Major Division, Texas Crush Sixties took down Houston Fire, 17-9, in the championship game. Gonzalez Insulation finished in third place.

Texas Thunder was victorious in the five-team Men’s 60 AAA Division, defeating Dallas Spurs, 20-14, in the championship game. Scrap Iron 60’s Rockies (CO) finished in third place.

Playing a best two-out-of-three game series, Team Texas (SA) swept Texas Legends 60’s by scores of 15-8 and 22-8, respectively, to win the Men’s 60 AA Division.

The final day of the weekend session, Sunday, May 20, for the Men’s 50 and 55 age divisions was rained out.
