18 Teams Compete in 40’s Spring Training Classic

PHOENIX – The 40’s Spring Training Classic was also held in March, with 18 teams in action.

Aces (AZ) defeated Phat SC (AZ), 17-12, in the “if” game of the six-team Men’s 40 AAA division. Phat SC defeated Aces, 18-16, in the championship game to force the “if” game. Whatever (AZ) won three straight games in the elimination side of the bracket to finish in third place.

The 12-team Men’s 40 Major division saw four teams advance to final four, as SBOB/ATHALONZ/VOODOO SPORTS (AZ), Senior Bandits/Whitton Companies (AZ), Blue Pill Mafia (AZ), and CRS (AZ) were all among the last four teams standing.

In the championship game, Blue Pill Mafia defeated SBOB, 25-23, in the championship game, forcing the “if” game. For Blue Pill Mafia, it was their seventh straight win, after dropping their first game of the bracket. In the “if” game, SBOB avenged their loss in the championship game, to win 22-19. Senior Bandits finished in their place.
