Prescott
Just got to the hotel after getting knocked out of the tournament. Just wanted to say thanks to Rick and everyone that was there for putting on another fun tournament. The fields were top notch, and Prescott is a beautiful venue for a tournament. We look forward to it every year. Thanks all and congratulations to all the winners-by the way--who did win????

By the way Tucson Roadrunners --wow, what an open inning against us last night-16 runs and you earned them. Same with Just 4 fun-great open inning. Enjoyed playing you guys and Agave again.

In the 50's, 55's and 60's Major and Major Plus, The Tucson Bandits forced the "if" game against Doubleplay Classics, but ran out of steam and lost the Championship. Those guys can hit! GSF took third and Vatos took 4th.

Prescott is a great location for a tournament. SSUSA should consider making this a Western Nationals location instead of up in the Northwest.

And you teams that have not considered coming over to this one, you should make it next year. And Rick needs to make it a three day tournament.

The Tucson Bandits played in a tournament? Where have you been this season? Shouldn't something be played in the Northwest? Wasn't the Western Nationals played in California?

Any tournament played in Arizona is a good one! Except June through mid-September.

Hey Web Man, How many teams showed up in Prescott and how many did you have in your 55 Division? How did you New Mexico Desperados do?

Jawood-when you get into the mountain areas of Arizona it's great-temps in the mid to upper 80's-beautiful. AZ isn't all like Phoenix with the heat.
Surf-we went 3-2. We got beat twice in the open inning-nature of the game. There was 7 in ours, I think. Ball was flying.
DBax-didn't even dawn on me you would be here, and would have liked to say hi. Even saw you guys walking around.

I love playing against GSF, I have the utmost respect for them. Those guys can flat play. More importantly they play the game the way it is meant to be played. They don't take cheap shots or run their mouth. If a ball accidentally goes middle, Ron either makes the play or just sets up to pitch again. They were playing in the 50 division in Prescott and gave everyone they played as much as they wanted. Our game against them was a blast. The winner was not determined until the final out in the 6th inning. Both teams were hitting and playing defense. You could not afford to give any extra outs in an inning.

Not to take anything away from our other competitors this weekend, but GSF just stands out.

Mike, I couldn't agree with you more. GSF is a class act as are you guys, Doubleplay Classic. We played you three times and it was a blast.

Jawood, like Webbie said, Prescott is nothing like Phoenix. It's in the pines and a great place to go in the summer to play ball.

Thank Dave, what position were you playing? Our games against the Tucson Bandits were last man standing. You gotta admit Eric catching the ball and going over the fence for the final out was epic. You having 10 guys and us with 11 it was a battle of attrition, you know its bad when I am running for people. A great effort on your part especially playing 4 games on Sunday.

Good luck the rest of the year.

I did know about the mountains, but when us rain forest people think of Arizona, mostly we think of HEAT, because we don't have any!

Mike, I played right field. And that catch to end the "if" game was awesome. And the only out I saw Eric make all day was the home run to end the previous game!

I was the guy who hit the ball to right field when you told the coach, he never goes to right.

Nice hitting I think we only got you out one time.

Thx a bunch mad dog. Believe it or not I ran every inning, we were a banged up bunch.

Thanks Ron. I did not watch it, but I guess it went a long way. Sometimes I get lucky and get my fat a$$ behind it and it goes. Funny part was I was getting grief for trying to hit the right field line on the swing before it.Look forward to seeing you guys again and congrats to being selected to the HOF.

I was the one giving him grief about that sorry attempt to RF. Mike, it was a freak'n BOMB! Someone should google earth that blast to verify the distance. It might be the longest ball I've seen hit as a senior player.

Prescott, what a great place to play. I would like to say that Rick and his staff did a great job running the tournament. The fields were excellent and the umpires were on top off their game. GSF - What a great bunch of guys. Tucson Bandits - Always enjoy playing against excellent teams. You are a great team on and off the field. All the teams in our division were solid, any one of them could have won this tournament. This is the reason we all play senior softball. To have weekends like this one . Thanks Paul Smit, Doubleplay Classic
