Discussion: Major Player

Can a Major player play for a AA team? And is the rule the same for women?
A player with qualifying experience at the Major level may not be added to a AA roster in the same age group ... It's all about the Rating Index numbers for both the player and the intended target team ... EXAMPLE: A player may "play down" one R/I point, such as from a 60-Major team (R/I=6) to a 55-AA (R/I=5), but is not eligible for a 60-AA (R/I=4) ...

The rules for Men and Women are the same in this regard, but as a practical matter, there are no Women 50+ Seniors AA-rated teams ... They are rated either AAA or Major, with the only AA's being in the 40-Masters ...

If this inquiry is something other than a general theoretical exercise and affects a specific person and circumstances, contact Sacramento and talk to an eligibility specialist ... Good luck!
Thanks Dave. That’s the way I understood it.
